Multi-homed.

We have a Solaris sun box that has two ethernet cards in it.

We are trying to get SYBASE SQL to server to recognize both interfaces....

Can this be done????

I know the NT version of SQL Server works....

Thx in advance...

Yes.

There is a Technote in Answerbase that gives a full explanation,
the title is "multiple_network_listeners.val"

Multi homing
Hi I am moving from one IP range to another on my site and my Novell 6 server currently has two address ranges. I am trying to move people to the new range gradually but I cannot get NDPS to work. I have deleted printer agent and set printer to new ip address in the new range I have then created a new printer agent with the new address but those on the new range still cannot print to this. Please can you tell me how to proceed. Thanks -- goodenhj ------------------------------------------------------------------------ goodenhj, Let's rule out NDPS/iPrint for no...

Multi-Homing
I know NW6.x supports IP Load-Balancing and Fault-Tolerance, the same IP address on two nics in the same server. Does NW6.x support Multi-Homing, two different subnets configured on two nics in the same server? I have been unable to find any information in the KB about this one way or the other. Multi line text: How to store and display multi line text with SQLServer and ASP.NET
Hi, thank you for reading this and helping me out with a solutionI use an ASP.NET text control (multi line text mode) to take input for a product's description (multi line), then store that input in my SQLServer product description field of type nvarchar. When I retrieve data from my SQLServer product description and display it with a text control on my webform, it appears as a single line description, while my intetion is to have it display as a multi line description as it was.  Can you help me to solve this problem? Many thanx. Hi Simple, There is a Property Called Wrap for your TextBox Control. Make it to True, then it will work properly. Multi-homed machines
I was wondering is there a way to keep multi-homed machines from using certain IP addresses for NCP? I would prefer to just use certain addresses for NCP and other for services such as Apache, Messenger, GroupWise and so on. I'm using NetWare 6.5 SP5. Also if you know of a link on the same with the OES Linux version. Multi-CPU, multi-core, multi-thread
A long time ago my servers all had one ordinary CPU, and I understood how a single ASE engine ran on the one CPU. Then I had some servers with multiple CPUs, and I understood how I could configure approximately one engine per CPU. Then I had some servers with CPUs that had multiple cores, and I found out that each core counts as one "CPU" for the purpose of allocating ASE engines. So far so good. Now I am building a Sun T5220 system. It runs Solaris 10, and I am on ASE 15.0.2 ESD#6. This machine apparently has 1 physical processor, and 4 cores. But each core has 8 t...

counfused multi homed computer
I set up a openSuSE 10.3 computer with two network cards to run tests of different Internet connections. The two cards are on different subnets of two different routers. I find that the computer has only a default gateway. If I set it to router 1 connections through router 2 fail. If I set it to router 2 connections through router 1 fail. Both routers are setup to transmit RIP and I have quagga installed and both zebra and ripd running. However, I do not think the routers broadcast default route information via RIP. If I leave the default route blank then connections through either r...

NDPSM on multi-homed server
I currently have a server with 2 nic's that is hosting NDPS. The two lan's that it is connected to are not allowed to route to each other. The print manager is bound to nic card A and only the workstations on that side of the LAN can see the printers. Somehow I need to get access to these printers for the users on the other side of the LAN. I dug out my old "NetWare 6 Administrator's Handbook" and it states: "You may want to assign printer agents on one server to multiple NDPS Manager objects (on other servers) to make sure that if one server goes down, netw...

Host-Based Multi-Homing?

Multi-home server configuration
Goal: To have a server that lives simultaneously in two independent worlds: WAN and LAN, with an external hardware firewall between the worlds, and no forwarding or routing between the NICs in the server. NICs are statically routed each to its own world. (BorderManager is not used.) Problem: Requires a gateway on each interface, so each can talk independently to its respective world. The WAN side requires a gateway to reach the Internet; the LAN side requires a gateway to reach IP print servers and other resources on the LAN. Difficulty: It seems that IP, by design, d...

linking from unix to sqlserver on win2k
I am having trouble creating a remote server in Sybase ( Adaptive Server Anywhere 8.0.1.3067(eval) ) running on a Sun station, my remote server is a MS SQL Server 2000 on Win2k. The trouble is that it either does not see the SQL Server or gives an error for connection string attribute. Here is the connection string I am using: 'Driver=/export/home0/demo/sybase/lib/dbodbc8_r.so;ServerName=MSSQLServer;Li nks=tcpip(host=192.168.0.13:1433);uid=dba;pwd=dba_pass;' Note: I am not having any problem when using Sybase on Win2k and creating a remote server that links to SQL Server. I also have no problem when going Sybase to Sybase from Unix to Win2k. One more thing: I don't have a name server so I have to give the IP address of the server where SQL Server resides on and not a name. Does anyone know how best to solve this problem? Thanks. ASA multi-user for UNIX
I have talked with 3 different Sybase technical support technicians today about the availability of ASA multi-user on UNIX (SUN-Solaris). I called a third time and spoke with a different person and was told that ASA was only available in single stand alone version on UNIX. Can someone help me out here? WEB.PB - Multi-CPU

Oracle, DBI and Multi Processing under Unix

The only difference is that I don't do any database action in the parent during forking. testMP3.pl is the same as testMP2.pl but has no database action in the children but still either stops after 159 records or hangs at 159 records ...
