Hi: Trying to understand this logic: We can choose: "Mricrosoft SQL Server" or "Mricrosoft SQL Server Dababase File" as our data source. I understand that if we choose: "Mricrosoft SQL Server", the database is located in server, such as: c:\program files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL1\Data\Northwind.mdf But if we choose: "Mricrosoft SQL Server Dababase File", what will it happen? does that mean it will create a copy of a database (say Northwind.mdf) to my current web application foler, say in: App_Data foder? What is the main advantage (or purpose) ...

I've set up a website on another computer using sql server express and visual web developer express, and it works as expected. However halfway through the development i've had to move to another computer. Hi All, Has anyone ever seen or encountered this error before. When using Sybase Central from SQL Anywhere 8.0, the creation of databases stops right at the moment of executing the creation event and presents me with the following error message; "Unable to start Database Server". Just upgraded two very large servers (each with 60+ databases, one with largest at 13gb, the other with largest at 37gb). (Environment is HP-UX 11 - 500mb ram, kajillions of gb of disk space!) I began receiving this message on my server console a couple of months ago. About 20 per day. We were running NW5.1 and GW 5.5. I did a topdown rebuild but continued to receive this message. using "FOR XML RAW " in SQL Server
I have a datagrid that I bind with a dataset that gets filled via a stored procedure in SQL Server. It contains SQL like this: select * from users this works when I bind it to the datagrid. HOWEVER, when I change the SQL to return the results in XML, binding to the the datagrid results in an error. "Server Name Already in use" in NT/IPX
Is there any way to speed up the time it takes before an NT Server box will allow a SQLA engine to restart under IPX. Sometimes I just need to restart an engine after it locks up or add another database to the engine. Real pain in the while waiting for the engine name to "flush" itself out of who knows where.
