Creating ASA 9 DSN on 64 bit server running 32 bit ASA 9
I have 2 servers. One is 32 bit and the other is 64 bit.
They both have 32 bit ASA 9 running on them. The database is
on the 32 bit server (as a network server).
I'd like to install an application on the 64 bit server
referencing the database on the network server.
On the 64 bit server, ODBC data sources is not detecting any
ASA 9 drivers.
I launched 32-bit ODBC Driver Manager (<windows directory>
\SysWoW64\odbcad32.exe) and created a DSN but the
application cannot detect it.
How can I go round this?
Did you create the DSN as a "user" DSN ...Are there any 32-bit or 64-bit ODBC drivers for ASA 9.0 for Windows OS's available for download?
I'd like to create a dsn pointing to ASA 9.0 database on a remote
server. The local PC does not have any Sybase / ASA product
1. Is it possible to create the DSN on this local PC?
2. If so, where can I possibly get the drivers?
3. Any other information on this will be highly appreciated.
might want to post this question to the sybase.public.sqlanywhere.general
This is an ASE newsgroup.

Does the 64 Bit Windows version of ASA 9 support the AMD 64 CPU's? If they
don't do you have a plan for releasing a version that will make use of the
AMD 64 in 64 bit mode?
Sorry Itanium II chips only.

...Occasional errors with 32-bit Delphi 7 application on Windows 7 64-bit
I have a 32-bit Delphi 7 application which was deployed on some machines with Windows 7 64-bit. The application occasionally displays errors such as:
"Error reading ppDBText37.Border.Color: Invalid property value"
"Error reading Label24.Font.Ch: Property Ch does not exist" (here the name "Charset" was apparently truncated to "Ch")
I checked how those properties are declared on the form where the errors occurred, and all seems ok:
- First form (where "Error reading ppDBText37.Border.Color: Invalid property value" occurs):
...SQLA 9.0.2 on 64-bit Windows 7
Hello all - I've installed the 32 bit client of SQLA 9.0.2 on 64-bit
Windows 7 and the Sybase client can't find the server (which is
running on a 32-bit Windows XP Professional PC) - even with a
dblocate.exe 22.214.171.124 (using IP address of server). "No servers
found." is the result.
This configuration works at my office - just not at a client's. And
other PCs running this client on other Windows XP PCs can see the
server just fine. Any ideas?
We've had a similar problem with Windows 7. First thing would be to

Can InfoMaker 9 be installed in a Windows 7 64-bit environment and
will the reports work?

In theory it should work - but IM 9 was never designed for W7 - so you will
probably have to install it and give it a try in your environment. I do have
IM 11.2, 11.5.1 and 12 working on my W7 machines. However, you have to
realize that even in IM's latest release it is still only a 32bit
application. Saying that, you will definitely need the 32bit database client
driver installed for any DB'...Groupwise 7 on Windows 7 64 bit
I wish to install a Groupwise 7 client on Windows 7 64 bit.
Is there a 64 bit version of the Groupwise 7 client?
If so, can anyone provide a link to download it?
If there isn't a 64 bit client, are there any recommendations/best
practices for installing the 32 bit client on Windows 7 64 bit?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

First and foremost, I've been an avid Windows user my entire life and
know very little to nothing about Linux, hence the reason for the
install. I was told by a bud that openSUSE would be a good start, so I
decided to just jump right in. Downloaded and got the .iso loaded up on
my thumb drive without a problem. Ran through the install without, what
I thought, a hitch. Rebooted and the computer booted straight into
Windows. I read through a few articles about trying to repair Grub using
GParted and I gave it a shot. First went through (what I believe) is the

I have an older OpenGL application using OpenGL 1.4 calls in both
software and hardware modes that works fine on 32 bit XP and Win 7 but
gives me issues with color depth on Windows 7 64bit. There aren't any
errors but it displays fewer colors when it draws to the screen than
when it draws to a bitmap. The AMD driver has the screen display set to
32bit color and when I step through the GL context creation whether for
HW or SW everything appears correct with the PixelFormatDescriptor set
to 8bits per color. GetDeviceCaps confirms that the screen DC is set to

I've now installed my D2009E 32 bits version on my new PC which has Windows7
Since my customers not yet are on 64 bits I would prefere not to use a 64

porting the application to my customers 32 bits XP.

I am in the process of getting a new PC and these days there is a choice between 32 and 64 bit operating system (Win7).
I have both Delphi7 Pro and BDS2006, where most of my work tends to still be done in Delphi 7.
My question now is:
Does Delphi 7 work correctly in Windows 7 x64 or do I have to install the 32 bit version in order to work with Delphi 7?
This is about the IDE, not programs created with Delphi, which I already know work fine in Win7x64.
I am worried about the impact of new security measures in Win7 and incompatibilities between the Delphi7 debugger and Win7x64.....

I'm contemplating getting Windows 7 (for various reasons I'd
rather not discuss here), and am wondering whether to go 64-bit
My current machine runs a Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G (rev_1_0)
mainboard, 2 GB RAM, and soon to have a Seagate ST32000641AS
(2TB) hard drive.
I'm not a gamer (at all), and other than database work (MS
Access) and photograph hoarding, I'm pretty much an "average"
Any thoughts appreciated.

We are planning to upgrade our ASE servers from a 32-bit ASE 188.8.131.52 to
64-bit ASE 12.5.1 on Solaris 8. Could you please give what are the steps to
be taken care and how do I start with ( Do I have to first upgrade to
32-bit12.5.1 and then upgrade to 64-bit ASE 12.5.1, or directly upgrade from
32-bit 184.108.40.206 to 64-bit 12.5.1 ?).
Could you also please point to some documentation (about upgrading 32-bit
