Check in / Check out issue

Hi All,

I copied the application pbl's from local to server with few objects with
checked out status. I could not reset the checked out status of these
objects in the new location.
Earlier versions let you reset the status even after giving an I/O error but
the version I am using ( 7.0.1 ) does not provide for this.

Has anyone come across this issue and have a workaround ?.

Lakshmanan.

I had a similiar problem.
I had to export and reimport the objects to clear the checkout state.
May be I deleted the objects in the pbl in the middle of the process,
but I can't remember exactly.

Thanks for the suggestions. I still have the problem even after trying what
you all suggested.

I tried export / import but the check out status did not clear up.
My source / refresh status is disabled, I am using PB native version
control. I am not sure how I could to enable it to try it.

Just to add a little more on the problem I have, the object could not be
deleted or checked out but could be open without a message from PB that the
object will be opened for read-only. I tried optimization of the pbl,
regeneration of the object but nothing resolves the check out status.

One other thing is that I need to connect to PB native for every session and
it doesn't keep my connection profile even though I find an entry for user
in library section of PB.ini file.

Create a new PBL(s) to match the ones you have now. Copy all objects from each
of the PBL's to the new PBLs. Delete the old ones, rename the new ones to the
old names. (Copy does not maintain the status).

regards,
Bill

Have you tried creating a new PBL and copying all the objects from the
old one? That shoul dclear the checkout status.

Yes, that helped. I copied all the objects and saved as the offending object
to a new PBL. Thanks for your time.
