PowerBuilder 8 and Oracle 8 Stored Procedure Datawindow

I worked many years with Sql Server and it was easy to do, but I don't
know how to do in Oracle:

How a Oracle 8 Stored Procedure can return to PowerBuilder 8 the result
of a query or a recordset (in Sql Server is as easy as put a select
sentence at the end of the procedure). I don't want to use temporary
tables for a concurrence issue.

Can anyone give me a help?

Thanks in advance,

You need a REF CURSOR. See enclosed datawindow examples.

Oracle store procedure problem using Powerbuilder and Oracle 8.0.4.0 Net
Powerbuilder version 6.0.00 / 6.5 Build 444 Oracle Net 8.0.4.0 I found there is problem with Oracle store procedure having more than 6 in parameters. I got GPF error on Window 95 and Dr. Watson error on NT. Also, I found it works find in Oracle Net 8.0.3.0. Is this a bug? Is there any new patch for this if it is a bug. Any recommendation about What version Oracle Net or SQL Net should I used for Oracle server version 8.0.4.0 (I don't think I am using any Oracle 8 new features)? Stored procedure DataWindow and Oracle 8.x JDBC Drivers
Hi, I'd like to build an stored procedure DataWindow using a DB profile with Oracle 8.x JDBC thin drivers. The problem is that PB can't get the source code from the stored procedure, resulting in a PB7 crash, and a PB8 datawindow wizard error because there is no stored procedure text avaliable. Is there any way to configure either PB or Oracle driver so that PB can get stored procedures text? I've tried with these versions, always with the described results: PB: PowerBuilder 7.0.x, latest version tested: 7.0.3 Build 10047 (C5). PowerBuilder 8.0 Buil...

database ASA 7 When we build a datawindow in powerbuilder we choose the table and the columns to build it. There is also the possibility to build a datawindow from a stored procedure. Datawindow's Date argument with PowerBuilder 8.0.1 and Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1
Hi, there: Does anybody know how to pass datetime type data from client side to server side in the datawindow? Can anybody recommend a good book about how PowerBuilder deals with Oracle, datawindow, embedded SQL? Thanks in advance. PB DateTime data type corresponds to the Oracle Date type. You can set a DateTime variable using constants, or use the Date function to make a Date from mm, dd, yy and DateTime function to convert it. What are you not finding in the PB help and online books? pb 8 stored procedure and datawindows
In pb 6.5 you were able to see what stored procedure was associated with a datawindow by clicking on the sql button, which then popped up a 'modified result set' window. This had a more button on it, and by clicking the more button, it showed you the stored procedure that was to be executed as well as the arguments passed to the stored procedure. How do you see what stored procedure is associated with a datawindow in pb 8.0? Thanks! In the DW Painter click on the Column specification tab, then RMB inside the tab and you'll see it in the context menu. ...

Powerbuilder 8.0.4 and Oracle 8 Password Expiry error detection
