It must be great that the absolutely only problem you face is the one
concerning the DW when running with WinXP themes. Unfortunately, many other
people have many issues - even people who are running Windows XP.
Therefore, most people will review the list of bugs which have been reported
to be fixed in this build - and make their own decision on whether or not to
make the upgrade.

You must remember - that although you may find the bug you refer to - as an
extremely critical and showstopping bug - other people have many other
issues that they find just as critical for their cases.

There hasn't been an issue for quite some time that so many people were
complaining about,
i think this more or less reflects that their customers/salespeople are
bugged with this too.. i know ours are.
Maybe it's time that these XP-look&feel bugs are getting solved now.

Ben

PS: Insinuating that this is the only problem we have is just silly. For
most issues we find a workaround ourselves, until the bug is solved later.
With this particular bug it's something different but i'm pretty sure if it
was easy to fix it would have been fixed by now.

You should be working with your technical support representative to
determine the status of this issue. It is my understanding that the issue
has been addressed and is currently in QA and this would explain why it is
not in 7204.

Ben,

I think Tim was objecting to Steen's telling everyone that they shouldn't
upgrade to 7204 because the particular problem that he cared about was not
fixed. If he had said something like "in case you're having this problem,
be aware that it isn't fixed in build 7204", no one would have objected.

You mean the ones who are unwilling to change the size of

Powerbuilder 8.04 build problems on Windows XP Professional
Since my PC has been upgraded to Windows XP professional I have encountered problems building our application. I am now getting a general application error during the build and PowerBuilder closing. This occurs every one in four builds. The other problem I am noticing is the time to build our application has increased at least 2 fold. My old PC was a windows 98 machine and a full rebuild would take about 20 minutes. Now under XP its taking 50 to 60 minutes. Has anyone encountered these problems? and does anyone have any ideas on these problems? The build number on our PB ve...

single XP local profile / multiple Netware users password problem
Hey. I'm using NW5.1 here and I've been having this problem lately : I needed to create some new accounts, where the client would ask the user to chose its password at first login. This was no problem with win9x. It creates a local profiles with the same username as the NW account and everything's fine. Now with XP, I need everyone to use the same local profile on any given computer (for example, everyone logging onto "Workstation1" will use the "WS1" local profile). The problem is that the client seems to automatically make the NW account's password ...

Problem getting rid of apps in XP, problems with IIS and XP HEd
My new notebook came with XP Home Edition. Oblivious to the fact that it would not support IIS, I went ahead and installed VS.NET along with other applications (SQL Server etc...). After finding out that ASP.NET won't run because of the unavailability of IIS, I went ahead and bought XP Pro and did a fresh/clean installation (by selecting the appropriate options in setup). Here is the thing that baffles me now.... Almost 10Gigs of my hard drive still has all the applications (but not data) from the previous version of XP (home edition). VS.NET, along with all other applications that I had ...

XP Home to XP Pro upgrade...
Hi, I tried asking this question in another of this site's discussion topics, but never got any answer. I'm considering purchasing one of the powerful new "desktop replacement" notebooks (one of the Pentium 4 models with HyperThreading technology). Unfortunately, even at the top dollar price of those high end models, with few exceptions they all come with XP Home, which I understand will not allow .NET development because XP Home doesn't come with IIS. I have two issues: 1) Has anyone purchased the XP Pro Upgrade kit and run it successfully? Any quirks in the installati...

Problem getting a Datagrid to allow users to edit it...(in line editing)
Hi, In my DNN custom module I have three panels with various controls on them. If a user clicks the "edit database" button...it makes all these panels disappear and one appear. That panel has a datagrid on it. My goal is to allow users to manipulate the database information using the datagrid. The datagrid is bound to a dataset which is pulled from the database and the data displays fine. I tried adding a button column to the datagrid (I'm using Visual Studio) and it puts a nice "edit" button to the left of every row in the database. Very nice. My understanding ...

New to XP: should I use ZA or XP firewall
I am new to WinXP and have missed most of the discussion about its built-in firewall. On Win98 I used to use ZA2.6 and have gone on to ZAP3 but I fnd ZAP bloated and want to go back to ZA2.6 because I don't need all the fancy features on ZAP3. Would the native XP firewall be good enough? How does it compare in terms of functionality and ease of use with ZA2.6 and/or ZAP3? NEw XP user has question
Sorry if this ins't the correct forum... We need to start using WinXP on some workstations and have no experience with it (other than tearing my hear out over my daugter's computer at home) and Novell. Can someone point me to a good set of tips or a tutorial that can quickly get me up to speed on using WinXP with Novell and Client 32. Thanks! Hi, If you're used to W2K and Client32, XP should be a breeze (almost). Just install Client 32 in the same way. If you've got any IPX going on...
