executing Proc's PB6.5 -Stored Procedures 11.02 vs Stored Procedures 11.9.2

Hi all,
   I had Migrated the database from 11.0.2 to 11.9.2. Powerbuilder is
not executing certain procedures called from event. But when a code of
Sqlca.Autocommit = True
is added before calling the Procedure it works.Anybody has any idea

thanx to all

Could it be that the 2 databases are configured differently with respect
to chained mode, for example?

Do your sp's attempt to create temp tables or perform any other DDL?

Steve didn't understand the problem correctly...

Once you load the database, generate DDL statements in old database (11.0.2)
and drop all the procedures in the new
database (11.9.2) and reload from DDLs.

What does your response have to do with trying to execute procedures
from an event? I don't think the problem is loading the procedures into
the DB, I think the problem is related to execution of the procedures
from PB during runtime.

I guess Ram should clarify with a response.

Which is Better 11.5.1 Vs 11.9.2
Hello Gurus, I know this discussion keeps popping up all the time. It's my turn now. I have around 18 servers mostly running on 11.0.3 SWR 7312. I need to move them on to y2k Complaint sybase versions. The point is I suggested 11.9.2 considering all factors. But Now i am in a dilemma. Whether to Move to 11.9.2 or stay with 11.5.1. I need first hand experience before i decide. Since My setup is very complicated If we decie to move on a particular direction, rolling back is impossible. 11.9.2 -> 11.9.2.5: errors from installdbccdb and instcomm
I recently upgraded from 11.9.2 to 11.9.2.5 using EBF9620. I unzipped the downloaded upgrade file and overwrote the files in the $SYBASE tree. I then proceeded to run the upgrade scripts as directed in the cover letter (scripts located in $SYBASE\scripts). The "instmstr.sql" and "instmsgs.ebf" scripts ran just fine, but the "installdbccdb" and "instcomm" scripts produced some errors about objects not being found. The server appears to be operating just fine, but I wanted to know if I should be concerned about these errors. "ins...

Load 11.9.2 backup's into 11.0.3
Hi, Is it possible to load 11.9.2 backup's into 11.0.3 dataserver ? Thanks, Andr Hi Andre, Nope. You can only load database dumps into the same version or newer versions. I would suggest taking a look at SQL Remote (included with ASE 11.9.2) if you want to keep the data in sync. Note that for heavy replication, you should use Replication Server. j "Andr Castanheira" <andre.castanheira@cariocaengenharia.com.br> wrote in message news:39ABF553.E93D793C@cariocaengenharia.com.br... > Hi, > > Is it possible to load 11.9.2 backup's ...

Transferring database ASE 11.9.2 -> ASE 11.5
Hello, I need to transfer a database from a ASE 11.9.2 server to a ASE 11.5 server. (Servers have the same specs and run Windows NT 4.0). The database doesn't have many objects such as tables, users, Views, SP's etc. etc. It has a 400 MB device for data and 100 MB Device for the log, with standard segmentation. It's relatively small. I understand from this newsgroup that dumping on a newer release and loading on an older release is not an option. Now I figure I have to do the following: - Create a data and a log device with similar names and sizes on the ASE 11.5 se...

Query showplan is different in 11.0.3 and 11.9.2 for tne same procedure
Hi, I'm trying to improve performance of some of the stor procedures. They were migrated from Sybase 11.0.3 to ASE 11.9.2. Procedure's text is the same and number of rows in the tables that this procedure is working with is also the same, statistics is updated and procs are recompiled. But when I took a look at showplan output I found significant differences between generated showplans. For instance: <<<<<<<<<<<< in ASE 11.9.2 >>>>>>>>>>>>> QUERY PLAN FOR STATEMENT 1 (at line 1). Download Database from ASE 11.9.2 to ASE 11.0.2 ?
