Getting ODBC to Work

Can someone shed some light on using ODBC between two different OS's? I
have an application in which the database server lives in the QNX (Unix)
environment. I am using Sybase SQL for QNX version 5.03. For the clients I
want to use a windows program developed in Power++. This app will connect
to the QNX Sybase database using ODBC. A while ago I did have a simple
proof of theory connectivity app running. Now I can't remember how I did it
!! On the QNX side I start the database with the -x tcpip option and use
the -n testdb to give it a name. The database starts up and everything is
fine. Now from the Windows 95 side, what are the exact parameters to give
the ODBC administrator when configuring a new datasource? Do I need to
specify the TCP/IP address somewhere in the configuration? This is driving
me crazy because I ha the damn thing working before. Using the above
example, if someone could specify each of the elements that the ODBC
configuration asks for it would be greatly appreciated.

Getting Database Information via ODBC
Hi, In my PB 6.5 application it is possible to select any ODBC datasource (I get the information from the registry), now I want also to see all tables or views of the selected database. Now my questions: 1. Is there an generall way (database independent) to get this information? 2. Must I use the ODBC32.dll, if yes, how? 3. Has every ODBC database the same system-tables, if yes, how they call? 4. What about system stored procedures, is that a solution for my problem? Get decimal instead of int from ODBC-database
Hi, I use ActiveState Perl v.5.6.1 build 635 on an MS win98 machine (my customer wants to run Perl on an MS NT-server) I have installed ppm-wise: * DBI [ 1.32] * DBD-ODBC [1.03] The strange thing is that when I run my request towards an PostgreSQL DBMS (running on an RH Linux) via ODBC, all my "INT"-fields are returned as int when I use SELECT in an DBI selectxxx/fetchxxx-command. :-) But using the same SQL-syntax in creating a table, and using a select on this table via ODBC towards a MSSQL7 DBMS (running on an MS winNT-server), I get a decimal number back, li...

Getting a SQL Express Database to work on a SQL Server

Is there any easy way to convert my SQL Express code to either Access or regular SQL Server code, without having to change very much code in my application. I really like the integration that SQL Express has with Visual Web Developer, and would like to be able to keep that sort of integration if at all possible. Thanks,Drew Assuming by "SQL Server" you mean "SQL Server 2005", the only thing that should need to change is the connection string.&n...
