PPB1.5.2 / ASA9.0.2 - Select error SQLSTATE = S1090 with DW with retrieval args

We're running into a serious problem with ASA9.0.2 build 2451.
We have an application with various DW's , and retrieval arguments to a Long
column in PPB ( integer in DB).

Running the app on the desktop, with the same ASA9.0.2 2451 runs fine.
Running the app on CE gives the following error :

Datawindow Error
Select error: SQLSTATE= S1090
[Sybase][ODBC Driver]
Invalid string or buffer length

Anybody run into this, or do a test to see if they have the same problem.
You need a small DW with a numeric retrieval argument.

TIA,

pbs

This sounds like an issue that is currently being looked into by
the iAnywhere people.
I have no other information though....

Hi Reed,

Given the urgency of my customers' situation, would you recommend
downgrading to ASA9.01, or wait
to see what the iAnywhere people have to say?
Would you have a case no. that I could refer to ?

We had the exact same problem. In our situation, it appears to be directly
related to a datawindow having an argument. If I were to remove the dw
argument and harcode -code it in the SELECT, the error does not appear. I'm
not recommending that as a work-around, just an FYI regarding the problem.
Other dw without arguments work just fine.

We rolled back to the 9.0.0.1899 which was the latest we were using prior to
attempting to upgrade to 9.0.2.

It turns out it's a known bug, and Sybase is taking care of it.
However, there's an easy workaround available:
Disablebind=1 in the connection string - does the trick.

Another workaround is DisableBind=1.
