EAServer 6.3 Oracle Connection Cache problem
Hi there, We have a connection cache configured to an Oracle 9i database and have a limit on the number of connections. When accessing the web application via a browser, refreshing the page rapidly a few times results in a broken connection cache. The cache cannot be pinged and PowerBuilder cannot connect to the cache via SQLCA. The only way to restore the cache is either via refreshing the cache, or restarting the server. This occurs in a development environment using a development version of EAServer 6.3 for Windows. The Oracle server is also installed on the same host. We're migrating from EAServer 5.5 to 6.3 and did not experience this problem in 5.5. I've tried using both the JCM_Oracle and Oracle database types and both experience the same problem. No error shows in the server log till the cache is down. The error text is at the bottom of this post. Anyone got any ideas? Hello group, I've got a fresh install on the above (subj) enviornment. I'm running witht the jagsrv_jdk12 startup. I have started the jagdemo.db. When I ping the installed cache connection for the Sample the manager the server process locks (No repaint or response in the manager, and a new manager session cannot connect to the jagsrvr) I do have the libodbc.so in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH and have verified the complete path to to the Driver is in the odbc.ini. I read a previous post on this subject whereby OCI connection caches in EAServer 3.5 do not work with Oracle 8i client. To follow up, I am having the same problem, and here are the facts: 1. Hi, We have a new installation of EAServer 6.3 (upgraded from 5.5). The Java and PowerBuilder connections PING to the Oracle 10. The PowerBuilder connection works perfectly, but the Java connection fails to SELECT from DB. In the JAGUAR log we see the log below. EAS 3.6.1 C1 & Oracle 8.1.7 Connection Cache Problem
I am experiencing inconsistent results when using an OCI 8.x connection cache with EAServer 3.6.1 C1 release. There are a few times when everything (i.e. database retrieves and updates) is working fine. If I close the browser (both IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.76) and try the same sequence of events again, Jaguar hangs while trying to connect to the connection cache. I read a previous post on this subject whereby OCI connection caches in EAServer 3.5 do not work with Oracle 8i client. To follow up, I am having the same problem, and here are the facts: 1. EAServer 3.0 and Oracle 8i (8.1.5) client works. 2. EAServer 3.5 and Oracle 8i (8.1.5) client DOES NOT work (cannot find XA80.dll). 3. EAServer 6.3 / ORACLE : Java connection PING but fails to SELECT
Hi, We have a new installation of EAServer 6.3 (upgraded from 5.5). The Java and PowerBuilder connections PING to the Oracle 10. The PowerBuilder connection works perfectly, but the Java connection fails to SELECT from DB. In the JAGUAR log we see the log below. After GOOGLING for a solution we=92ve tested with other Oracle Client versions: 10.2, 10.2.0.4 and 11; But the problem continues. Any idea what should be done on this? EAS 3.6.1 C1 & Oracle 8.1.7 Connection Cache Problem
I am experiencing inconsistent results when using an OCI 8.x connection cache with EAServer 3.6.1 C1 release. There are a few times when everything (i.e. database retrieves and updates) is working fine. If I close the browser (both IE 5.5 and Netscape 4.76) and try the same sequence of events again, Jaguar hangs while trying to connect to the connection cache. Most of the time, we can't even get a single update to work. There doesn't appear to be a pattern on why it works sometimes and doesn't work most of the time. Hi all, I have a problem with PB 7.0.3 and EAS 3.6.1 C3 on Solaris 2.8. I defined a datawindow with PB that is supposed to show a list of all customers from an Oracle DB. On the server side it all seems to work well. The return status is ok and the number of rows inside the blob is exactly the number of rows in the customer table.
