Now that Ted fixed Bug 482084 - rewrite xpcshell test harnes I am fixing Bug 485736 - Add (TUnit) 'xpcshell-tests' |make| target, using |runxpcshelltests.py| new '--manifest' option which (one of the) goal is to run: *xpcshell tests with new |make xpcshell-tests|. *compiled tests (only) with usual |make check|. foolperl-5.6.1: make; make test; rebuilds twice on AIX
I just wanted someone to know that make; make test; recompiles all the C code twice on AIX (this had been fixed in the past). This is admittedly a minor annoyance in an otherwise fine release and probably indicates a busted make more than anything else (gmake does the right thing), but if it can be easily fixed, I say do it :-) John. Everybody trying to build a Perl with a shared libperl.so on Linux knows it: make test will actually test the previous built. This already resulted for me in more than one horrible confusion. One could get used to; always say make install && make test This cannot be considered a solution, though.
