Subject: values() documentation needs updating
Reply-To: dougw@safeguard.net

This is a bug report for perl from dougw@safeguard.net,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.28 running under perl v5.6.0.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

'perldoc -f values' still says that
it gives a copy of values, but it now gives access to
the hash's actual values.
e.g.
# This actually increments the hash values
my %hash = qw(a 1 b 2 c 3);
for (values %hash) {
 $_++;
}

Need to hide an ID field, but I need its value???
Hello, I'm using a DetailsView and I have two templated fields (Position_Id and Person)   Position_Id     1234 Person         John Doe   I want to hide the Position_Id field, but when I do that, my update statement does not work because it uses the value in Position_Id as a parameter -- even though it's only a read-only parameter. Maybe I'm making this too complicated, but I just want a clean interface, I think I should be able to hide the Positon_Id field, but still read it's value??? Any help is appreciated?? Th...

Documentation update needed
Name: Ged Haywood Email: noiseatjubileegroupdotcodotuk Product: Firefox Summary: Documentation update needed Comments: In http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/ it would help enormously to have the date of the latest release given together with the version number. In http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/2.0.0.8/releasenotes/ the section "Installing Firefox 2" doesn't tell anyone how to install Firefox 2. It only explains (some of?) what will break as a result. This is a long-standing issue. Browser Details: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konque...

Code examples needed for Declaritive Prog method/setting update rec values before update exec.
I don't know how many times I have needed to code something like we used to in ASP, where a user would enter values for a record update and then in the code you could manipulate those values as needed before the record was actually updated. My problem is referenceing the form field value from the client page, in the code-behind page utilizing SQLDataSource control, ASP.NET 2.0, Code-behind pages, and Sql native provider, not OLEDB. This is a web page, not VB application, and I have tried so many methods from books, but still don't quite have the syntax and logic quite correct. &nb...

[ID 19991001.002] $^W documentation
This is a bug report for perl from root@brutos.mchh3.oen.siemens.de, generated with the help of perlbug 1.26 running under perl 5.00503. ----------------------------------------------------------------- [Please enter your report here] This is more a hint than a bug, and possibly it's already known - sorry then. The report concerns the documentation of $^W. Currently, it implies that $^W=0 disables -w, in other words, that $^W and -w are synonyms. But this is not completely true because of the two phases precompilation and runtime - a $^W assignment outside BEGIN scopes doe...

[ID 19991022.002] documentation in another format?
Dear sir/madam: I'm trying to learn perl and would like to print out the documentation on your site. However, due to the many <hr> tags, I tried printing the version changes page <http://www.perl.com/pub/doc/manual/html/pod/perldelta.html> and that gave me 89 pages! Isn't there the documentation in txt format, without <hr> tags, or in pdf, etc? thanks marcelo __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
