Remote access to server via the internet (simply)
I'm running Netware 5.12 with 15 XP worksations and one adsl modem on a
hub/switch which is configured via one of the workstations, not the
server. I would like to be able to log onto my server through the
internet from another location as if I were at work. I originally
installed the network but am a self confessed novice really. I have
spent days trolling through the novell site and I think I have
established that I need to use 'novell internet access server', I have
found setup insructions and things but the terminology used is causing me

i have installed openSUSE 11. i need to access the net in two ways:
sometimes by (1)directly logging on the the net via a service-provider's
server, and at other times by (2)accessing another pc (temporarily
acting as a server) which has windows running on it.
How do i get this arrangement up and running?
...Laptop - Internet Access
I am setting up some new equipment in our office. One of the salesman is
getting a new laptop with a 10/100 ethernet NIC, Wireless and modem.
While he is in the office (connected to our Novell SBS 6.0 network via the
ethernet card) he would like to take advantage of our ADSL internet
connection shared by the network. At home, he has a wireless router
connected to a cable modem. On the road, he would like to be able to use the
modem to connect to the internet.
I understand that he will have to have multiple internet access accounts

I've built a distributed application using EAServer. The client application
is written in PB7 (8014) accessing Jaguar components via IIOP. Currently,
all users of the application are internal to the company so they can connect
to the Jaguar server directly from the PB client application. Now, I have
remote users that will be running the same PB client application with the
need to access the same Jaguar server. What are my options for making my
Jaguar sever visible to the remote users via their Internet connection. I
would like to avoid requiring them to RAS or VPN into the int...Access Server Remotely with Private IP
I have 2 servers running Netware 6. Previously, I had a T1 line and was
able to login to the servers remotely because they were setup with Public
IP addresses. However, we have moved our office and I now have DSL with
different IP numbers.
The DSL router I am using for DSL doesnt allow for multiple subnets. The
DSL router assigns IP #'s to the 35+ terminals in our office and trying
to allow servers with Public IP's and workstations with IP's assigned via
DHCP doesnt work with this router, because of its limitation in allowing
My question is t...iprint clent (5.64 and 5.68) on Win 7 (32 and 64 bit) removes the ability to view remote printers in Windows explorer via "View remote printers" if you have opened the server-object in Network
I just discovered this as I wanted to look into the properties of
printers on several workstations and a Samba/Cups print server.
If I unistall the iprint client it immediately starts to work. As soon
as the client is installed you see no printers if you click on "View
remote printers" . That only applies to Win7, on WinXP I did not see
that behaviour (WinVista I don't use and my Win2008 server has no
iprint client installed).
Anybody else noticed that already?

Any help would be appreciated. I feel that I'm almost there, but that some tiny little thing is keeping this from working.
To access from outside your network, you need to use a public ip / an ip that's recognizable from outside your network. Open the command prompt and type:

For some odd reason (it's probably my fault, somehow), Google is indexing pages on my blog via the web server IP address. This is driving me crazy and I want to stop it. So, in order to do that, I need to intercept requests for the IP address and do a 301 redirect to the domain name so that Google will stop indexing it. What would be the easiest way to implement this?
