Why does Intel Driver update utility keep on "installing" endlessly?
I am on ff.3.6.12 on windows 7 and I have allowed all scripts to run
In ie, it atleast gives a message that something has been blocked and
allows that to be unblocked. What needs to be done in ff?
...Intel Driver (E1000.KO)
We have a new Toshiba Tectra M5 Laptop that has a new Intel LAN card
chipset onboard that is not supported by the 2.6.5-7.191 Kernel shipped
with the imaging engine. I have sucessfully compiled an updated version of
the driver, installed it inside initrd but have to load it manually in
order to use it.
From my experiance so far I have 2 questions:
1. How can I get the kernel to autodetect the 7.1.9 version of the driver
source code from Intel that I compliled?
2. What version of ZENWorks has the 2.6.5-7.244 Kernel that Novell
supplies the source code for in their download a...updates, updates, updates
Holy Crap, Batman! You'd think I was running Windows XP and it's patch
So far this week - new kernel (126.96.36.199), 2 new browsers (Opera 9.63
and Firefox 3.05) and a new plugin (Flash 10.0.156.3). I'm about ready
to try one od the BSD's!

Test your software before the release and let the user download a stable

Normally I use Safari, but my iBook is out of commission for a while.
So, I am forced to use a PC to which I would much rather use Firefox
than Internet Exploder. However, as much I enjoy not using a Microsoft
product, and use a product that works decently, I am severely annoyed
about the constant updates I am put through. In the last two days, I had
to wait for Firefox to install updates before I could browse and now,
I'm alerted that there'...Updates Updates Updates
I was a big fan of Firefox.. Now, I don't even like to use it. Seems
like every time I start it up I have to update some addin OR the
browser itself. And unfortunately the update nag messages are always
presented when I start a browsing session. I find this annoying
because, typically, when I open a web browser all I want to do is go
to a web page. Not update the browser.
I can agree that staying current with the latest version could give
the best, fastest, safest web experience. But that point becomes mute
when I start off every other browsing session with a new update. And

We have a Gateway E-9520T running OES 1 SP 2 and SLES 9 SP3. The
network interface requires the intel-e1000 driver. Not surprisingly,
the driver package corresponds to a specific kernel rpm. For example,
we currently have:
There's now a kernel update in the OES channel:
The following requested packages will be installed:

kernel-bigsmp 2.6.5-7.287.3 (oes)
The following packages must be REMOVED

I never really bothered in the past using OpenSUSE on my laptop because
XP was sufficient at the time. But now it's just old and I can't be
bothered to reinstall it every time something goes wrong, and the worst
part most apps I use require an Admin account.
I tried OpenSUSE 10.3 or 10.2 on my laptop, I'm not quite sure which
version it was, but I had a problem with the new 'intel' driver
replacing the 'i810' driver in x.org conf. So I reinstalled the 'i810'
driver and everything was fine.
Can I still do this on OpenSUSE 11 or is there no supp...Update on Intel graphics driver and Flash full-screen freeze (Bug)
On openSUSE 11.3, users of the "intel" graphics driver have been
experiencing full-screen lockup/freeze with Flash and internet video
streaming, although sound continues normally. Switching to the
"intellegacy driver has provided some users with a temporary workaround.
Since there have been several threads involving that, I thought it best
to provide an update on the latest situation as a new thread.
Some users, including me, installed the latest kernel-desktop from OBS
Kernel:HEAD (2.3.36-90.1), but no change for this problem with "intel"
Howeve...automatic update of driver from driver profile
I'm trying to sort some stuff out in my iPrint network. I have configured
driver profiles for my printers and I would like to see that all the
changes I make in my profiles are being pushed to the iPrint Clients to
update the locally installed printerdrivers.
Now after every change I have to remove the printer from the workstation
and reinstall the printer to make sure all the printdriver options are
being used on the workstation.
Is there a way to automate this action?
Thanks in Advance

I have a bunch of iPrint printers already installed on 1000s of machines.
I want to add a driver profile to the printers. I can add and associated
the profile no problem. My question is, will this automatically get
pushed out to 1000s of workstations? If not, what do I do to make it get
Unfortunately this will not get pushed out automatically.
But I might have some things you could try to make this happen as a side
effect. If you are running NW65SP4 on the server - if you load the NDPSM
with a /DNS switch or remove the switch the clients will get redirected to
