unlock xp workstation with windows credentials by default

Hi,

what do I need to change in the registry to configure a Agent only
machine so that upon unlocking the machine "Windows" and not "NDS" is
the credentialset that is proposed by default.

On a similar note: how can I set "workstation only" for the system
logon?

Background: we write a dll that reacts to events like
unsuspend/screensaver end etc which can run scripts upon these events
which would effectively verify that the user is on a secured connectin

(over VPN) which permits to athenticate against the NDS and failing so

would automatically prepare the logon for the user to log on against
the
exitant DLU.

Sounds strange? Could be :-).

Sorry, the registry keys which should work with Netware Client do not
seem to work with Zen 4 Agent...

So far there isn't anyway to do this. Still checking, but as of now it

looks like it will have to go in as an enhancement request.

Ok, we're looking into it. We probably have one because we also need
to
be able to at the same time change the simple and the NDS password
with
our NW6 environment :-( ( *""*+% !!! :-( )

But thanks anyway.

As a matter of fact we do use DLU.

we do something fairly odd :-). We use DLU managed by ZEN and have no
logon/logoff script but insted a self written management scheduler
which
runs jobs based on rules which manages connect and disconnect of SMB
Shares on our NetWare 6 Servers as well as software distribution etc
etc
:-). So we basically use DLU and workstation registration and that's
about it. Ok, we use NIPP. Also if also the Windows version of
ConsoleOne would work *without* a NetWare Client like the Linux
Version
then would be even more happy.

*sigh* anyway. We'll just have to wait for our custom request to be
engineered. Personally I am looking forward to NW 6.5 so I can use the

AD emulation and use more of the Microsoft Group Policies (we now do
use
a local set and override some settings for specific groups with a
delta
set stored in the eDirectory Policies).

IBM OEM Microsoft Windows XP And Windows XP SP1 Default Administration Account Vulnerability
IBM OEM Microsoft Windows XP And Windows XP SP1 are both reported to contain a default passwordless administrative account. Reportedly, during the installation process of IBMs OEM version of Windows XP and Windows XP SP1, the process automatically creates an administrator account and fails to set a password for it. The user is not made aware of the account during installation. Users installing this version of Microsoft Windows may fail to properly secure this account, allowing for local attackers to gain administrative privileges. Windows 98SE to Windows XP Pro Workstation Upgrade
We have upgraded a single Windows 98SE client to Windows XP Pro with the Novell Client v4.9sp1a and need to keep the locally attached printer as a network share. The network consists of Windows 98SE clients, some setup with network shared (local) printers using NPTWIN95.EXE, and a Netware 4.11 Server with PSERVER.NLM installed and NPRINTER.NLS for the shared server attached printer . I think NDPS was designed to replace Nprinter in Netware 5 and above for Windows 2000/XP clients, however we have a Netware 4.11 Server and still need to network share the locally attached printer on...

Workstation Manager and XP
We have a strange situation. Win XP fully patched, ZfD4 running on NW6. Any changes made to the registry (new printers, configuration changes) are GONE after restarting the system. It's like registry changes are written to a file and then backed out when the system is shut down. Removing Workstation Manager solves the problem. Anyone got any ideas? Configuring default settings for Windows image deployment
Michael Murgolo:In my previous post on this topic, I mentioned that Windows XP Service Pack 2 will copy the Administrators settings to Default User (see sections B & C). The new profile copy is the default behavior in SP2 with no built-in way to disable it. To disable it you had to request the hotfix from KB887816 from Microsoft Customer Support. This has changed with Windows XP Service Pack 3. The fix from KB887816 is included in SP3. (See KB946480 for a list of fixes included in SP3.) Therefore, the behavior for SP3 is no profile copy by default. To enable the p...

Proposal Round 2: Drop active support of Windows 2000, Windows XP (no service pack) and Windows XP SP1
See the previous thread for the story so far: http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.dev.planning/browse_thread/thread/67ddcaa5c897a58b# What seems to be a reasonable step is to declare that Windows XP SP2 is the lowest supported version of Windows. Older versions will not be blocked from working based on current plans, but are considered unsupported. What Unsupported Means: * No tinderbox coverage * No QA coverage * No unit test or talos performance coverage * Bugs only affecting these platforms will not be considered as blocking any release 1.9.2 or later. ** We wil...

Windows XP workstations crashing
OK, Here's the scenario: Windows XP clients started reporting to us that their machines were freezing up. When we asked them to define it more clearly, it all seemed to come out randomly. No error messages are given. No event log messages. Task Manager won't open whilst the machine is in it's crashed state(making the troubleshooting process extremely difficult). The only correlation i could make was related to either two things: 1. The clients with the problems have 4.9 Netware clients installed, while the ones not experiencing the issues have 4.83 versions. ...
