ZCM 10.2.2 upgrade to ZCM 10.3.0/10.3.1
Hi All, I want to check if want to upgrade from ZCM 10.2.2 to ZCM
What kind of things I need to prepare?
My server is under SLES 10 SP3
Hope you can provide me the solution and answer on that.
Click the following link for the 10.3.1 update readme:

See the support matrix table for the different supported versions.
*DEV*...10.2.2->10.3 Works, just 10.3 install doesn't
I have a very odd issue. If i install 10.2.2 and then upgrade it to
10.3 through the system update deployment, everything works fine.
If i try to install 10.3 on a fresh machine without installing 10.2.2
first it starts failing on things like downloading DAU, downloading
group policy files, etc.
Any ideas? I have run the post-10.3 patch after installing it the day
it came out. I have rebuilt my preagent packages.....still not

Hello all, I upgraded our Suse 11 ZCM server from 10.2.2 to 10.3.0a and
according to ZCC installation was successful. The version.txt also
confirms this, yet the server device still displays 10.2.2. This is
still the case after a reboot. Is there a fix or should I not be

we tried to upgrade from 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 on the primary server first (Sles
Although the deployment stage reported success - the server shows still
10.3.2 for ZCM, ZAM und ZPM.
we then tried to deploy 10.3.3 for one win7 sp1 workstation - with success.
so, what can be done to bring the primary server to 10.3.3 or is it just
showing the wrong version?
Thanks for any help
I've same here -- "Update for ZCM (10.3.3) - Update Completed", but
server (SLES 11) show via ZCC 10.2.2. All updated WS's show 10.3.3. But,
I have "slight"...update to 10.3.1 from 10.2.2
well, I know that I have to apply 10.3 first and then 10.3.1 on the
server side, but, just to make sure, is it possible to upgrade the
server in the 2 steps and then roll-out the 10.3.1 to the clients or,,
will the clients also do a 2 step upgrade ?
Hope Im making myself somewhat clear here....,
Thought I'd do the update this weekend so we wont interfere with the
users so much, and from what I gather, the 10.3.0 client hasnt been
exactly 100% in terms of login/performance,etc.
I have that same issue.
It seems that there is no way around it - it will boot 2 times.

I have installed 10.1.2 on some new client machines and after the install I
am noticing bundles from 10.0.3 are installing from somewhere. I don't make
any 10.0.3 bundles so I am guessing it is some type of auto update that did
not get shut off. Anyone have a idea where I can kill this off?

Hi there, I have ZCM 10.2.2 running on a windows 2008 R2 server, this
has been running some time in a test enviroment and is working fine with
client devices etc but the issue was the fact that the ZAA on the server
wouldnt register/recognise server etc, now that i'm trying to deploy the
10.3a update it wont update on the server as its the ZAA that performs
the update, what can i do to get this recognised by the system -
basically i want to have a 10.3 enviroment before it is rolled out live,
i would prefer not to have to start afresh as i have compiled lots of

What is the recommended way to upgrade 10.2.2 to 10.3.2?
1. Upgrade primaries and satelittes to 10.3.0a via SU, manually selecting
2. Upgrade primaries, satelittes and devices to 10.3.2 via SU and stages.
Do I need to upgrade all the devices with 10.3.0a before going to 10.3.2 or
will the 10.3.2 upgrade do this for me as long as the 10.3.0a update is
downloaded and available?
Can 10.2.2 communicate with 10.3.0a/10.3.2 backend?
have you checked the instructions in the readme? http://www.novell.com/documentation/zcm10/read...10.2.2 to 10.3.2 direct upgrade?
So we've been struggling with Zen 10 for a long time and we just
recently worked with Novell on going directly from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1 on
the clients without having to reboot multiple times... is there going to
be a 10.2.2 to 10.3.2 upgrade? Because it sounds like we're going to
have to reboot twice again??
Also out of curiosity I did a "Check for Updates" and my "Update for
ZCM 10.2.x to ZCM 10.3.1" was removed... yay. :-(
NOTE: We have not deployed 10.3....Agent updated from 10.2.1 to 10.2.2
We have a few thousand machines in our company and recently deployed an
agent update from 10.2.1 to 10.2.2. Out of these machines we have 400
that give errors.
We have 40 machines that say "Installing"
We have about 20 machines that say "awaiting reboot"
And the rest say "Update Assigned"
I don't see any Zenworks errors in the event logs of the individual PCs
so not sure what is causing the agent to not install.
For the machines that say "awaiting reboot" we already rebooted them
using another software package. For the ones that ...10.0.3.2 => 10.1.1 will it help my issues?
I have been reading up on various posts on this forum for quite a
while, checking on various issues related to ZCM.
I first implemented ZCM on June of this year, and was impressed with
the web interface and flexibility, and how some of the features worked
very well. However, I am plagued by some common issues with ZCM:
- Slow login (albeit not horrible, usually 30 - 45 sec at the most,
still not good)
- Intermittent failure of group policy
- Intermittent and random failure of DLU policies
I really want to make some headway on these issues, and was wondering
