10.3.1 server, 10.2.2 managed devices any issues?

We have to upgrade our primary servers to 10.3.1 to fix an issue with
patch but we do not want to upgrade all the managed devices at this
time. So far the test environment seems to be ok with this
configuration. Has anyone else ran 10.3.1 on the servers with 10.2.2
devices and had issues, patch problems, etc?

Thanks.

I recently had 10.2 agents running with 10.3.1 and all seemed ok, I
ended up upgrading all the agents as I wanted the patch baselined...but
not because I was having issues.

Is there any reason you don't want to upgrade the agents?

Cheers

I asked the exact same question some time ago, and got a lot of
positive feedback.
After some month with 80% 10.2.2 clients and 20% 10.3.1 clients on a
10.3.1 backend, they have no problems.

So you should be fine.

Remember that the upgrade to 10.3.1 on the workstations will take you
through 10.3.0 on the clients, and thereby causing 2 consecutive
reboots.
Uninstalling the 10.2.2 agent while retaining the workstation info,
and then installing 10.3.1 will leave the ZCm agent more or less
unuseable (I haven't tested this further, but there is an SR running
on it). So double reboot seem to be the only way.

Right now we do not want to upgrade the workstations at this time just
for the reboot issue. We need time to schedule through the proper
management channels before they will allow it. On the other hand the
serves need to be upgraded ASAP to get patch working again. Its been
having problems updating the signatures and Novell will not look at it
until the servers are on at least 10.3.

Spond, because of these two reboots we're planning on only going to
10.3.0a for now (starting next Friday). Do you have an ETA on this fix
you spoke about? Because if so we can change our plans and go straight
to 10.3.1. This would be ideal.

Update 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 on primary server (sles 10) fails?
we tried to upgrade from 10.3.2 to 10.3.3 on the primary server first (Sles 10 SP3). Although the deployment stage reported success - the server shows still 10.3.2 for ZCM, ZAM und ZPM. we then tried to deploy 10.3.3 for one win7 sp1 workstation - with success. so, what can be done to bring the primary server to 10.3.3 or is it just showing the wrong version? However, I am plagued by some common issues with ZCM: - Slow login (albeit not horrible, usually 30 - 45 sec at the most, still not good) - Intermittent failure of group policy - Intermittent and random failure of DLU policies I really want to make some headway on these issues, and was wondering if ...
