ICapture.exe via iprint policy problem

Hello everyone,

I have multiple users logging into one workstations that need to capture
LPT2 port and my thinking was to use iprint policy (Zfd 4.0.1 IR5, iPrint
client 3.11) to distribute the capture of LPT2. Here's the problem I'm
running into. When the first user logs in everything goes as plan, but when
I login as another user the user cannot print from an application required
to print from LTP2. I've tried varies different configurations to enable
multiple users to print via iprint on LPT2 using Zfd. My current solution
to the problem involved restarting the computer before the next person on
the same machine logs in. In Zfd, I have two applications, one to clear the
LPT port then followed by remapping the LPT2 to the prescribed printer.
They are both forced run but one is designed to run first (Wait on Force
run) before the other. However like I stated before, if the user logs in
and prints fine, that same person logs out and someone new logs in, it
doesn't print. They have to restart the computer entirely for it to work.
If anyone has a better way to accomplish the mapping of LPT ports to
multiple users on one machine I'm interested.

Thank you
Alex Anderson

iPrint / IPRINT.EXE
I am in the process of setting up iPrint on a Netware 6.5 evaluation copy and I am trying to use iCapture but I can not find the program anywhere. The documentation says Novell iCapture is installed when you install the iPrint Client which I did. On Start > Programs > Novell iPrint I can only see Iprint Client and Uninstall iPrint Client. Again documentation says to use Start > Programs > Novell iPrint > iPrint Settings > iCapture I do not get this option. What should I do? Iprint policy and new iprint client
Has anyone tried the new iprint client 3.05 with a policy for installing iprint printers? With the non 3.05 iprint client, if a workstation gets its printers via a workstation policy and then deletes the printers and reboots, they get the printers again. With the new iprint client installed, the user gets the printers, but if the user deletes the printer and reboots, they do not get the printers back. Reverting back to the older iprint client, puts things back to normal. John Carter wrote: > Has anyone tried the new iprint client 3.05 with a policy for > installing ...

Iprint policy not working under XP (Extra problems)

RDP W2008 EasyPrint(XPS) iPrint problem Not supported?
We are using a schooladministration program thats hosted elsewhere. We connect by RDP to a W2003 server. Our network is Novell and we use iPrint/NDPS for printers on the workstations. With RDP to W2003 it is necessary that printer drivers are also installed on the W2003 server, then printing to iPrint printers is functioning. The hosting firm is switching to W2008 server in a cluster and from now on the are using EasyPrint (XPS) in W2008 server. This is a different way of sending a printjob to the workstation and drivers are not needed at the server anymore. It works with local co...
