GWIA - TCP/IP address and TCP port

We are running Groupwise 6.0. What is the default TCP port for the GWIA
under GroupWise tab, Identification, TCP/IP address, TCP port?
Thanks for any hints...

The default port is 1677. The TCP/IP address is the address of the machine
that is running GWIA.

So, it is the same as the POA default TCP port. Thanks, I will test it
out.

No, the default port is port 25, the POA is 1677. Sorry, I thought you
meant the POA. The configuration would be <ipaddress>:25.

To Gwia or not to Gwia
Hi everyone. I have 6.5.7 that is on a 10+ years box. It's time to put it to rest - I said but the boss does not want to spend the money - heard that before! It a suite using on GW and Gwava no other products. There are worried about email failure. So I'm trying GWAVA's Reload product. It works fine for the backup and the disaster recovery BUT you have no Gwia. Can I set up another Netware box with just the Gwia on it and disable the main box Gwia so that when the system fails ( and it will) we will have a email running service? Also is there a license issue here...

How can I enable SMTP/POP/IMAP Port for GroupWise Network Address in GWIA
Hello Everyone, I have a question on GroupWise 6.5 Server. I want to use it as a IMAP/POP3/SMTP server. In Properties of GWIA, GroupWise NetworkAddress tab, the Port for SMTP/POP/IMAP are blank. How can I enable these? Thanks in advance! You're drilled too far down. You enable each of those services through their respective tabs (SMTP/MIME , LDAP and POP3/IMAP4), not at the GroupWise tab. Once enabled they will use the standard ports. What you are looking at is for designating non-standard ports for each of the services. <maqiang@cn.ibm.com> wrote in message ...

GWIA 55EP2 and GWIA 6x Differences
Hello, I am reading the Groupwise upgrade guide, as we are planning to upgrade from GW 55EP2 to GW 6.x. In there, it mentions that we may not want to upgrade right away to a 6.x GWIA, especially if we support POP3 or IMAP clients. And it seems to indicate that the GroupWise post offices now talk directly to a 6.x GWIA, while a 5.x GWIA always communicates through the MTA. Can someone explain to me the differences in the GWIA's so we can deploy our GW upgrade without surprises? We have a single GroupWise domain, Single GWIA, Single MTA, and 8 post offices distributed on ...

GWIA opens Port 25, but no SMTP listening on primary IP, *BUT* on other IP now.
Hello, NW6.5.5-CPR GW6.5.4 after doing some changes the IP configuration (adding IP address) the GWIA *DOES* open port 25 (tcpcon: 0.0.0.0 SMTP). A "LOAD TEL 127.0.0.1 25" *DOES* give the SMTP greeting line of the GWIA. telnetting the primary IP (10.201.0.1) port 25 does not serve the request, but telnetting another IP address (10.128.232.100:25) does answer the request. searching the KB up to now I couldn't find a TID telling how to force GWIA either to listen on a certain specified IP address or to listen on all IPs of the GWIA's host. Just few TIDs te...

GWIA on secondary ip address
Running BM 3.8, GroupWise 7.01 and GWAVA 3.60 on Netware 6.5 SP5 (single server). GWIA is bound to a public secondary ip address (ConsoleOne - GWIA - GroupWise - Network Address) and "Bind to TCP/IP address at connection time" is checked. All outbound mail is however stamped with the primary ip address of the server. I have tried to bind GWIA to a private address and NAT'ed the public secondary addres to the private address - same result. Any ideas? groupwise 5.5 gwia out
I've tested out 2 different e-mail clients our .bat one and outlook express. i think our GWIA-Out is having a problem sending mail using those clients. GWIA bann IP address range
Is there a way to ban an entire range of IP addresses in GWIA? I keep getting these blasted SPAM messages that modify the subject header so my email filter does not catch them. I would like to ban the entire subnet since we don't receive emails from this particular overseas ASIA network. Thanks for the help. James Trogdon If this was GW6.5 the answer is yes, it's easy. GWIA sending out wrong IP address
We have receintly been added to a bunch of SPAM lists and are unable to send out email. The strange thing however is that the IP address of our domain is not what is referenced on the SPAM websites. Our domain is WBOE.NET and has an IP of 141.150.231.210. When we check the logs on the SPAM sites it says that the sending address is 141.150.231.211. Can anybody tell me where GWIA gets its IP addresses from. I looked all through GWIA from Console One and I can't find the IP address 141.150.231.211. GWIA's ip address
Are there issues binding the GWIA to a secondary ip address? If so where do I change the ip address of the GWIA to use the primary ip bound to the nic? I'm getting reverse lookup bounces and the messages are refferencing the primary address on the server not the secondary that I have bound to the GWIA. Thanks for any info. change the ip address on GWIA server
We are changing ISPs and our IP address scheme will change during this time. Is there a TID or can anyone tell me where all the references to the servers IP address is stored for the GWIA so I can change them to the new scheme? GW6.5 there are few things to consider. quite possibly you have an internal LAN subnet and a public IP assigned by your ISP. any traffic coming to your GWIA (meant for port 25) is destined for the public IP. somehow that traffic is translated via NAT or in a router or PIX and forwarded to the GWIA. if this is the case, you may need not do anything to get...

Force GWIA to send through secondary IP address
I have a client with a Groupwise 6.5 system running on a Netware 5.0 server that also functions as an internet router (using NAT only, no Border Manager). They keep getting blacklisted, because their workstations share the same IP address as GWIA. They have a block of around 10 IP addresses, so I tried changing the primary address to another one, and using their listed mail address as a secondary. I then set the IP address in the GWIA properties and told it to bind at connection time. When I restarted the server, it could only receive mail. Outgoing mail generated 450 and ...
