GroupWise Webaccess address book isn't the same as GroupWise Client address book
I am running GroupWise 6.0 sp3 along with GroupWise Webaccess sp3. I made
a new entry to my address book from an internet connection to my Webaccess
and when I went to review my entry through my GroupWise client it wasn't
there, but when I went back into Webaccess it was there. Why wouldn't it
synchronize with my GroupWise client? Everything else seems to

I have been facing a very frustrating problem ever since I upgraded to
Groupwise 6.5. I have about 20 users in different post offices that
can't send email from the Groupwise 6.5 client. When they click on
new mail the Mail to: window comes up but all of the addressing fields
are greyed out so they can't address the email.
This problem is not consistent. The users may be able to send email
fine for a couple of days and then it will stop working for a few
days. The problem isn't tied to any particular computer. I have had
the users try on multiple computers.

Client has a bunch of Windows XP PC clients with very usual
applications installed, including Office 2003. Of these, a few are
exhibiting a confusing behavior. When the main user of the PC is
logged in as herself, there are no address books that show in the
Groupwise 7.02HP address book client. We cannot add services (address
books-- no error messages, but when I click on add-service, nothing
happens. These PCs are members of a Microsoft Active Directory domain
and do not have a Netware client loaded on the PC (although others in

I am trying to write a simple rule to add a user to a distribution list
_as_a_'BC'_participation_member....not_'To'_. It is sited in the
documentation on how to do it, but I can't get it to fully work. It
does add the user as a member of the distribution list, but it adds
them as a 'To', not a 'Bc'. No error message received, but Trace level

Our company was just acquired (never happens these days) by another company that has an exchange server.
We're trying to keep our GW for at least the near future and want to just 'POP' and SMTP through the Exchange server. I can receive messages no problem, but can't send. When I send, I get the super-duper descriptive error message, 'Service not Available'. How do I track down where the SMTP is failing?
I can send from Outlook Express, so I assume it's something within the Groupwise client that is having issues with the SMTP service on the Exchange serve...User doesn't have GroupWise Contacts

...User Authentication returns true when the user isn't logged in
I am running into trouble with the following. There are times where the application returns true when the identity is authenticated even when the user is not logged in. I have tried using the logout button, which I believe is supposed to kill the session, correct? However, it doesn't work 100% of the time.

The groupwise client works ok. Users can login and send and receive

We have a two-node cluster running GW7.01 on Netware 6.5 SP7. As part
of our disaster recovery test we've done the following:
1. Installed netware 6.5 sp7 onto a new server in its own tree.
2. Installed GW7 on this server, with an identical groupwise system i.e
same domain name, etc (only difference is server name, IP, and tree
3. We then exported the NDS/GW objects from the current production tree
using the GWport32 utility into the new tree on the new server.

Out of the hundreds of users displayed in the addressbook, theire is
one user who still has the 'old' info displayed, though the info in
ConsoleOne is updated a couple of days ago.
A GWcheck didn't fix the problem.
How do we fix this?

Our problems started when we tried upgrading Novell NetWare from 6 SP2 to
the latest SP5. Suddenly GroupWise began causing server abends (GWIA
module usually the culprit). Thinking I might need to upgrade GroupWise
first, a week later I also tried upgrading our GroupWise 6.5 to SP5. That

When I create a user in ConsoleOne and Assign a GroupWise Postoffice for
the User, The user is created in NDS and in the GroupWise system. The
problem though is that the user's details (first name, last name, etc...)

only way I have been able to make the user details appear in GroupWise
view or the GroupWise address book is to disassociate the GroupWise object
from the NDS object, update the GroupWise object's details and then
reassociate. (Too many extra steps)

out that we cannot change a user's GW password in consoleone.
We must login with the usre's original password in order to change it.

I inherited a 6.5 Groupwise system. One of our employees recently got
married and we tried to rename the account. Her Novell login is fine
but she couldn't access her mailbox. We tried all of the fixes but no
luck. The net admin deleted her account and created a new novell and
