Is it possible for a Linux 6.x or 7.x client to connect to a server (NT in
this case) running SQLAnywhere 5.5.x ?
Thanks in advance,
Generally, no; however, you can use OpenClient (ASE's dblib) or JConnect (if
you're using Java) to communicate with an Open Server Gateway (dbos50.exe that
comes with ASA5.x for NT) as a front-end to ASA 5.5.

I have a bit of problem and not sure which way I should tackle this one.
I have 2 x Netware 4.11 servers, which will be upgraded to Netware 6.5 and
one of these servers have Groupwise 5.5 which will be upgraded to Groupwise
The one server is being used for Groupwise archiving and currently setup for

the migration wizard as this server also holds the user data. On the 2nd

Personally, I'd upgrade Netware first, make sure GW works in it's
current config and then upgrade GW....Groupwise 6.5 clients and GroupWise 8.0.1 clients using the same Postoffice

I wish to upgrade our v6.0 GroupWise to v6.5 and want to do it gradually.
I wish to upgrade the server side software first, then let my Helpdesk
staff upgrade the client software on their own timetable. It is my
understanding there is no problem in doing this.
My question is if I continue using the 6.0 client will there by any new
features or options that arrived in v6.5 that the users will see in the

That went great. We also migrated from GroupWise 5.2 to GroupWise
That worked great, but we still have an issue that is yet to be
resolved. Originally, we had that little issue with Frequent Contacts

We are using the GroupWise Mac client 6.5.2 with some issues and want to try
the latest Mac GroupWise client 6.5.3 (to see if it resolves the issues). We
are running GroupWise server 6.5 sp2, but do not want to upgrade to GW 6.5
sp3 at this stage.
Are there any issues with running the GroupWise Mac client 6.5.3 with the
GroupWise server still at 6.5 sp2.
Sorry have accidentally entered the message twice in different forums.
