Can't open doc's across PO's in "live" mode over the web...

Using GWise 6.5, NetWare 6.0

The POA's are NAT'd through our firewall.

In our production environment we have 4 POA's with approx. 30
libraries
spread out among them. The libraries are created under the PO's. Each
PO
has it's own set of libraries and does both email & library
processing.

In our test environment, I have 1 PO for email only (no libraries) and

another PO for documents only (no email) with a library created under
it.

The following error happens in both environments:

When users are logged into GWise from outside the LAN in "live" mode
over
the web, GWise is reporting the following error whenever users try to
view
or open documents in a library that is located under another PO other
than
the PO that is tied to their email account. They can perform finds ok.

---------------------------
GroupWise Error (8503)
---------------------------
An error occurred while exporting a document. 8503: The Post Office
Agent
is not running or cannot be found at the specified IP address and IP
port.
Contact your system administrator. PODOCS Library:426.Current
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

However, when logged into GWise from outside the LAN in "live" mode
over
the web, they can view/open documents fine if they are in libraries
under
their email PO.

If they are logged into GWise inside the LAN, they can access library

documents across PO's just fine.

Can anyone please offer any suggestions on what is happening and how I
can
fix this? I've look in the KB, but that has been a bust.

TIA,

-phil

Okay - I've been mulling this over - I "think" maybe the "proxy
server" fields for the POA might work here. But of course, every
POA would need to have a public address. You would put the
"public" address of your POA in the "proxy" address.

Alrighty then, each of our POA's already have their own unique public

address which is NAT'd through the firewall to their own unique
private
address, so all I need to do is to add the public addresses of each
corresponding POA to it's "Proxy Server Address" on each POA's Network

Address tab, bounce the POA's and test.... I'll give this method a
shot
and will report back whether or not this is the ticket...

Mucho thanks - Phil

Danita,

FYI: I've been busy keeping the alligators at bay all this week. I
plan to
test this functionality early next week, and will report my results
back
here in this thread.

Thanks!

Wired's Vista "Do's" Have Some Major "Don'ts"
Wired has an article up about how to speed up Vista. While they have a couple OK tips in there, there are a couple of suggestions that caught my attention as colossally BAD. I tried to edit the wiki page to reflect this, but I was rebuffed by the original author. Steve Jobs: Google's 'Don't Be Evil' motto is "bullshit"

We got this scenario; today, client's running a network with 1 tree with 3 office's in the cities. Network is 5.0, 5.1 and 1 new 6.0 server. This WAN is created through a framerelay service from an ISP. What we will do now shortly is to move the communication from the frame relay to 1 local BM server on each site and create a network through the VPN instead. Both the new line's and the old frame relay will be available at the same time for a short period before the old frame relay is to be disconnected. Each office have at least 1 more server then...
