Confusion re. "mozilla.feedback.*" and "Hendrix".
Exactly how does one use the newsgroups "mozilla.feedback.*"? I have a lot of "feedback", both positive and negative, on Firefox and Thunderbird, both of which I use extensively, and I'd like to post it in "mozilla.feedback.*", but I find the post list confusing and off-putting. After staring open-mouthed at the post list for a few seconds, all of the following questions flooded my mind: 1. Are these groups moderated or unmoderated? 2. Are they open for public input, or are they invitation-only? 3. Can users post directly, or only through some in...

mozilla mail composer: quoting problems
Hi, I have configured Mozilla Mail so that the composer works text-only, which means I don't edit HTML messages. Moreover, when quoting I have configured it to use ">" as the quoting sign. No problems so far. Now, when I'm writing a message and copy and paste text, now and then manually inserting a ">" Mozilla Mail doesn't recognize that as quoted text any more and when I send the message "> " gets " > ". Now the text isn't colored any more when messages are displayed in a folder. I'd like to disabl...

Proposal: Move "Mozilla Labs" from "" to "Client Software"
The "Other Applications" product, containing ChatZilla, DOM Inspector etc. is in the "Client Software" Classification. It seems to make sense to have the "Mozilla Labs" product (which contains Joey and Operator at the moment) in the same Classification, rather than the current "Client Support". Doesn't it? "mail" and "newsgroups" no longer listed under "tools" menu
Hello, As of April 30th I can no longer access my cache of received and sent e-mails that existed in "mail" under the "tools" menu in the main browser window of mozilla ff. The item "newsgroups" is also missing from the "tools" menu. I can still access my incomming e-mail messages from my Comcast Webmail e-mail account but I can no longer access the e-mails sent or received on or before April 30th as they were accessed through the main browser window by clicking "tools" and then "mail". How can I recover this information? Where di...

Name: anon Email: useratdomaindotorg Product: Firefox Summary: re: "data" / mozilla's contemplation of "phorming" FF browsing data Comments: Are you serious? I have been a big proponent of Firefox and Mozilla products for quite some time now. And now I'm reading that the foundation is considering (or already decided upon) "anonymously" warehousing browsing data? I thought that you would be better than that; that you would be above these sorts of Orwellian shenanigans. It would appear that the user/consumer/joe average doesn't...

Scope of "Mozilla" and Planet Mozilla
This week has seen heated discussion about the scope of materials syndicated to Planet Mozilla. Here's my view. Mozilla is a community unified around the Mozilla mission and manifesto. We agree on these things, but we are extremely diverse on almost every other topic. In fact, Mozilla is remarkable in how many people with otherwise differing views we gather around our mission. How do we handle this? First, we should be very clear that being a "Mozillian" is about supporting the Mozilla mission. If we start to try to make "Mozilla" mean "t...

mozilla mail "file" button lists directory names: how to avoid ?
Hi there, Is there a way to avoid listing directory names (containing the sub-dir) in the "file" button of mozilla mail ? I am annoyed by that, as my own list goes pretty long and I'd like to find the same behaviour as I have using mozilla/HPUX version. This affects both mozilla Win / 1.7-1.8 and linux 1.7 this also affect thunderbird 0.9 thanks for any help ! Dominique. As a follow-up, more details: The "file" drop down button shows grayed-out directory listed, like <filder-name>.sbd These names appear also in the subscribed folder l...

"Mozilla Sunbird" vs. "Calendar"
Hi there ! Older version used to install in a directory named "Calendar". Somewhere in the 0.7 line, this changed to "Mozilla Sunbird", which sounds reasonable according to FF and TB. And as the update is still broken, I installed 0.8pre manually and ended up with "Calendar" again. Is this a bug or is it maybe just a difference between "pre" and "final"? I'm not sure when the change happened exactly. Regards fw Frank Winkler wrote: > Is this a bug or is it maybe just a difference between "pre" and > ...
