bugzilla

I am trying to install the redhat version of bugzilla for postgresql
but there doesn't seem to be a userguide out there. I just started
using linux(Redhat 9) a week ago and would not feel comfortable just
trying to figure it out on my own. does anyone know where a
installation guide is ((unsuccessful finding guide on sites for
bugzilla, mozilla, or redhat)) or know what steps I need to take?

Unless you have a compelling reason to use postgresql and that version,
I suggest you use the standard (MySQL) version.

I suspect it is possible. It just may be extremely difficult to get
support here. Out of 14 developers, one works with PgSQL rather
intermittently (dkl - are you reading this?? :-) and the ratio of users
is probably much more rarified than that.

Yes Postgresql and the Bugzilla code ported to PostgreSQL should work
fine on Red Hat version 9. We have it running here on Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 3 which is based primarily on 9.

sounds like either ScriptInterpreterSource is missing or wrong in httpd.conf,
or your registry entry for .cgi isn't correct.

I was trying to fixup bug bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441414, bug the mozilla community reject my patch.
I am looking for some support here at thunderbird community. There's really not much we can do, as adding features to XUL won't be accepted. That bug will probably be marked as WONTFIX, and we'll just have to live with that. Other bugs, like bug 213945, will have to fixed using a different method. I'm not sure what method that would be, but it'll have to be investigated. Thank you for working on that bug though! It stinks that it got rejected after you did so much work, but at least you have a lot more knowledge in that area now. Was bug 213945 the bug you ...

bugzilla.mozilla.org down?
It seems like bugzilla.mozilla.org is down, is that correct? Is it a planned outage (migration, hardware upgrade, etc)? If so, is there an E.T.A. for when it will be available again? If not, is there someone that needs to be notified? I've been trying to find the patches that allow assigned_to, etc to be a drop-down. Greetings to Webtools and Bugzilla fans
This message is mostly a test to make sure the new list is working. Hopefully everyone survived the move. I *attempted* to rig the old mail list server to continue to gate the netscape.public.mozilla.webtools newsgroup and deliver the messages to support-bugzilla (since that's what most of the traffic was). If that works, we'll effectively have all new posts to netscape.public.mozilla.webtools mirrored onto mozilla.support.bugzilla as well, to catch any stragglers. I do have the mozilla-webtools@mozilla.org address set up to forward into support-bugzilla as well. If a...

bugzilla.mozilla.org improvements
Over the next few months, I will be working on improving bugzilla.mozilla.org to better meet the needs of the Mozilla development community.[0] I am therefore gathering 'requirements' - that is to say, asking people's opinion about which possible improvements would be most useful. This newsgroup post and an associated blogpost pointing here are a start; please let me know if there are other forums I could usefully ask in. (I apologise if the reasonably wide crossposting irritates anyone. It seems that mozilla.announce has morphed into something which non-communit...

bugzilla.mozilla.org reorg
Hi, yesterday and today (part of) the long awaited bugzilla.mozilla.org reorg happened. A new product "Core" was created for things like Necko, Gecko, Editor and other core Gecko components that are shared across all of the Mozilla apps. The Bugs were moved over to the Product. Also a new product "Toolkit" was created, which is obviously for Bugs in the new platform toolkit used by Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird atm (i hope i didn't miss a application :). What didn't happen in this reorg was the change of the default assignees to generic adresses...
