Mozilla Thunderbird & mozilla news (normal)

I use thunderbird under windows and mozilla mail under linux. they have
the same behaviour. The problem is when i want to read some news,
mozilla automaticaly bring to some news and display all the tree. It's
not a big deal, but it's kind of boring. What i would like, is that
mozilla just keep in the last news that was posted, and don't display
tree of a news i don't care.
cheers,
ps : sorry for my english, i'm french ;)

Unless you use mail views or quick search, Mozilla will remember that
setting on a per-newsgroup basis.

Mozilla Mail&News quoting
I'm just curious... As most Mozilla users know, the program turns quotation symbols (> > > ) into vertical bars. However, if I try to fool it by writing the symbols myself, like in this fake quotation: > This is a fake quote. Here is some extra text to make > the quote two lines long. ....Mozilla doesn't turn it into a vertical bar. Why is that? What is the trigger for an "actual" quote? Mozilla News-reading news
I have several newsgroups set up, when I finish reading the posts in one newsgroup and click on the next button Mozilla asks "Advance to next unread message in newsgroup.whatever?" Is there a place to turn off it asking and go ahead and go the the next unread message in the next newsgroup? I've looked at about:config listing, and haven't seen anything under preferences. Probably something simple I am missing. Thanks! Steve Mozilla 1.5 Linux steve harris wrote: > I have several newsgroups set up, when I finish reading the posts in one > newsgr...

Firebird or Mozilla... Thunderbird or Mozilla...
I just got finished reading the roadmap to try and figure out if I would be better off stacking with FB and TB, or if I should install the Mozilla Suite. I cannot make heads or tails out of the roadmap. I cannot figure out what would be the best choice. Would someone here kindly outline the key decision issues for the two different paths? Thunderbird, Mozilla and news
Hi all I've been using Thunderbird quite happily for mail for a while now and thought I'd move away from using slrn on a remote box to using Thunderbird for news use. However, neither Thunderbird 0.5 nor 0.7 want to connect to a news server for me. I've tried news.ntlworld.com (my ISP's news server) and news.individual.net (which needs a username and password which is what I use normally [and what this is posted via]) but neither want to work... upon trying to 'Manage Newsgroup Subscriptions' it just sits there saying "Please wait...". This is, as...

Mozilla 1.6 Mail&News View menu
The 'View' filter menu unfortunately works only on a per message basis which makes it impossible to filter for threads. For example actually it is not possible to create a filter with this properties: "View all threads which contain a message with [this] properties". This feature could be easily implemented in the following way: In the 'Message View Setup' window underneath the filter list just place a checkbox '[Display] Whole Thread'. Then when this option is checked together with the filtered message all other messages in the same thread w...

New option in Mozilla Mail&News 1.6a?
I noticed somewhere on mozilla.org web site, that it's new to Mozilla 1.6a that you can change headers when posting message, but I can't find it anymore on mozilla.org or within mail&news in composition window when writing a message.
