"Offline->Get seleted messages" not working? Confirmation needed

Or at least that's what I think!

So before posting to bugzilla I need a sanity check:
I presume that "Offline->Get selected messages" menu option *should*
download a selected message, and store it for offline viewing.

When reading the usenet recently, this feature (which I'm sure I've
used before) doesn't seem to work!

Hope someone can help
	-Rob.

Well, it seems to be working again on latest nightly, so
please disregard original post.

mozilla mail composer: quoting problems
Hi, I have configured Mozilla Mail so that the composer works text-only, which means I don't edit HTML messages. Moreover, when quoting I have configured it to use ">" as the quoting sign. No problems so far. Now, when I'm writing a message and copy and paste text, now and then manually inserting a ">" Mozilla Mail doesn't recognize that as quoted text any more and when I send the message "> " gets " > ". Now the text isn't colored any more when messages are displayed in a folder. I'd like to disabl...

Get "Mail"/"Get "News" / "Write"/"Post" buttons?
If the "Get Mail" button text changed to "Get News", and "Write" changed to "Post" when TB's in the news-reading mode, it would save me and probably others from constantly forgetting to make the change before proceeding. :-) Or is there an extension to do this which I don't know about? "Get Mail" vs "Get All New Messages"
I have a few different email accounts set up in Thunderbird, and I'm using the unified view to view them. Recently, I noticed that the "Get Mail" button seems to only retrieve email for the first account (sometimes?). I'd like to click on that button and retrieve email for all of the accounts. I can get the behavior that I want consistently if I pull down the menu for "Get Mail" and select "Get All New Messages", but I'd prefer to get that in a single click if possible. I tried starting from scratch and recreating my profile, but I st...

Mail pseudo-error
In a brand new XP system with Netscape 7.1, sending mail (not news) results in the "delivering mail" window, followed soon after by a window headed "Send Message Error" with text "Sending of Message Failed" followed by an indication that the SMTP server refused to handle it. BUT THE MESSAGE *IS* sent successfully! The "delivering message" window ends up saying "Mail sent successfully", with the progress bar still moving because the error message is still there. Closing the error message window closes the "delivering" w...

[Mozilla mail] <Message Filters>: wish "Copy to folder"
Hello, Message Filters give you many options but no "Copy to Folder" (I just see "Move to Folder"). Could Mozilla developers add this option? Thank you, Lorenzo You set that in the Mail & Newgroup Properties. "Copies and Folders" then you can turn on option to save copies and to what folder you want to save copies. lorygami wrote: > > Hello, > > Message Filters give you many options but no "Copy to Folder" (I just > see "Move to Folder"). > Could Mozilla developers add this option? > >...

Caching Mode and "work in progress" --> Mail adress gets truncated
high could somenone duplicate that: Client 7.0.1 SP1 in Caching Mode. Receiver E-Mail Adress must have to parts before the host, as example "surname.name@host.ch". only a one part e-mail address, the problem doesnt appear. when you write a mail and save it to the "work in progress" folder and you send it afterwards, it truncated the second part of the e-mail adress and so, it never gets out. it dont happens in online mode and it doesnt appear if you directly send the e-mail. only caching and first save it to Work in progess and 2-part e-mail with .net. ...

What is the use of "Get" and "Set" and how it works?

"<->" as "->" with automatic "is rw"
I like that arguments will be readonly by default. But when I look at my current code, I see that I would be typing " is rw" quite a lot, which in my opinion is too long for a thing that occurs very often. Every such situation in my code is a foreach loop. A thing that in Perl 6 will mostly be used with the pointy sub declaration syntax. If I'm not mistaken, <-> is still available. It communicates "bidirectional" and that is more or less the same as read/write access. I'm proposing for zip(@foos, @bars, @xyzzies) <-> $foo, $bar, $xyzz...

"SSL" "Mail" and "Code"
Does anybody know of any discussions taking place within Mozilla regarding these 3 bits in the certificate manager? Perhaps I've missed something in the discussions here. In any case, I think a new mechanism for indicating trust w/in the Mozilla apps are needed. Take for example the "StartCom Certification Authority" root. The Certificate Manager (I'm using Firefox on Windows) says it can identify web sites, email users, and code yet the cert itself says it can only be used for signing other certs (essentially, that is). At a minimum this is confusing but I have...

"Web Site" versus New "Project" >> "Visual C#" >> "ASP.NET Web Application"?
What is the difference in creating a new "Web Site" versus New "Project" >> "Visual C#" >> "ASP.NET Web Application" ?  When and why should I use one over the other?  Thank you in advance and I look forward to your answers! Web Application Project is an addin to VS. There are a few differences but for the short answer, it uses more of an older 1.1 style for compilation and distribution.   So, I should use create Web Site? There's a detailed comparison here.Basically the difference is web application projects have a physical project file and resemble...

"Get Mail" Button does not work
Hello: I downloaded and installed Thunderbird v1.5 on Windows XP a few months ago, with the Lightning and Redirect extensions. Ever since I started using the program, I've noticed that the clicking on the "Get Mail" button does not retrieve messages; instead, I have to click on the arrow next to the button and select "Get All New Messages". I have also downloaded and installed the program on a Mac, and clicking on the "Get Mail" button on that machine does retrieve messages. I'm wondering if this is a bug in the Windows XP version...

Mozilla mail/news "annoyances"
I've been using Mozilla on and off for mail/news and browing since before 1.0, and I'm now running 1.4. I'm running on Windows, currently XP Pro. While I like Mozilla in general, and I do believe it has improved tremendously, there are certain things I find *very* annoying about. Some of these are: 1) When I'm reading mail, I'd like to do everything from the keyboard. No reason I should have to bother with the mouse to read messages. I can do that to some extent, but: 1a) I need a key sequence to mark a message as junk (or toggle the junk setting). ...

"Get Mail" Button Not Working
I run Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 on 4 PCs. On one of them, the "Get Mail" button does nothing. However, if I click on the little down-arrow next to the "Get mail" button and choose "Get All New Messages" (or select just one of the accounts) that works fine. No problems with the other PC's in this regard. So, can anyone tell me why the button doesn't work? Thanks, -Jim jcr wrote: > I run Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 on 4 PCs. Difference between "=>" and ">=" in Perl !

What's the difference between "=>" and ">=" in Perl ? To the best of my knowledge, ">=" means greater than or equal to and "=>" is just used instead of comma to distinguish between key and values while assigning a hash. I am unable to justify the output of the following program (for &quo...

Getting the "new mail" tray message and tooltip only when certain mail arrives
I have subscribed to some mailing lists and I have set up Thunderbird so that mail from those lists is filtered to special mailing list folders. However, the filtering happens a few seconds after the message arrives, so Thunderbird will flash the "new mail" tray icon until the filtering is done, which is distracting. Is it possible to fix this without disabling the "new mail" tray icon? "Re:" and "Fwd:" are removed when a message gets filtered
Hello, I am using Thunderbird version 2.0.0.12 (20080213) on Windows XP with an IMAP server. I have a few message filters that move messages from inbox to other folders. When I click on the folder that messages have been moved to, in the message listing pane, I noticed that none of the subjects have the "Re:" or "Fwd:" prefixes for replied or forwarded messages. However, when I click on a message, in the message view pane, the "Re:" or "Fwd:" is present. Is this a bug in Thunderbird? Thanks. -- Regards, Nagaraj ...
