Migrating Calendar from Mozilla Calendar to ICal

Hi

We are having problems migrating calendar between platforms. As i
testing calendar technology and we are having problems sharing calendars
between platform Windows -> OS X and OS X - > Windows 2000.

We are running
* Apache server with WebDav on a Win2k box.
* Pc's are running Mozilla Calendar.
* OS X is running ICAL. (Links for OS X Mozilla Calendar does not work)

Can you explain in more detail what your problems are?

I can confirm a similar situation. My girlfriend has created a
calendar with the Jan 9 build for Mozilla Firebird on Windows XP and
iCal does not show the calendar. PHPiCalendar does show the events.
At first I noticed that if events were marked as "private" then
phpicalendar would show that there was an event but it was private
while iCal wouldn't show the events at all. I tested this on multiple
macs with different versions of iCal. I tried importing the iCalendar
file into a newly created local calendar on the mac - but no luck. I
too use an apache web server with webdav blah blah - none of that
really matters.

The first thing I noticed was that there are line feeds all over the
mozilla ical file before most : or ;. Also, summary usually comes
before UID in a vevent from ical, while mozilla does the opposite.
STATUS is omitted by default on iCal, but not in mozilla calendar. But
the most important thing I am noticing is that the mozilla calendar is
doing an END:VCALENDAR after each EVENT and a BEGIN:VCALENDAR at the
beginning of each event - why on earth would it do this?

My understanding is that both ways of handling the documents are
correct. iCal however only supports their version. I once created a
document in mozilla calendar and simply stripped out the
END:VCALENDAR/BEGIN:VCALENDAR and it worked fine in iCal. I then
considered writing a php app that reads the file and strips that stuff
out. But then just started editing only in iCal and reading in mozilla.
I think it used to work fine in iCal, and hopefully they'll add the
full standard support.

I did notice that the first event will show up in iCal. just a random
aside about all the shenanigans.

I search and replace the following regular expression:
END:VCALENDAR\nBEGIN:VCALENDAR\nVERSION\n :2\.0\nPRODID\n
:-//Mozilla\.org/NONSGML Mozilla Calendar V1\.0//EN\n

with a null (I use Textpad) in my Mozilla Calendar .ics files before
posting them to my webdav server so my wife can see them using iCal.

Watch out for any text breaks inserted by my newsreader, your
newsreader, or whatever. In fact, here's a version where the spaces
are replaced with asterisks:

END:VCALENDAR\nBEGIN:VCALENDAR\nVERSION\n*:2\.0\nPRODID\n*:-//Mozilla\.org/NONSGML*Mozilla*Calendar*V1\.0//EN\n

Mozilla Calendar
I've recently started using Mozilla Calendar, and so far the features and user interface are almost exactly what I want... but (maybe) not quite. I use a hosted mail-server to keep my email in one central place - but access it from a number of different computers. IMAP is already configured and secured with a VPN, but I don't currently have a secured ftp service that I can access remotely (and using FTP is all I can find documented...) I notice the "Remote Server URL" option when creating new calendars... but I am unsure about the server configuration requireme...

converting sun calendar to mozilla calendar
Has anyone written a script that takes the SUN calendar format and converts it to a .ics format that can be imported into mozilla calendar? I started working on a script to do this but I figured that someone else had already been down this road. GroupWise Calendar & Mozilla Calendar Integration?
We use GroupWise at our office using IMAP. Thunderbird will show the calendar events as a list (like emails) but not on an actual calendar view (day, week, month etc). Is there anyway to get these events to show up automatically in Mozilla Calendar? Is there anyway to click on a day as in GW Calendar and create a new event and sent it to a an email list, in either Mozilla Calendar or Thunderbird? I would really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks. _________________________________ James Williamson Technical Consultant & Network Analyst The Bradford Group 1940 ...

Mozilla Calendar on Mozilla Update
The calendar extension is now also being hosted on update.mozilla.org: http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=208 Feel free to rate it. Although the best recommended way to download the calendar xpi is to use the download page at: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/download.html if you want to try it from there, make sure you go to http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=208&page=releases and pick the correct OS because the main page does not seem to be detecting the OS properly. Mozilla Calendar suddenly does not show remote calendar anymore
Hi, I'm using Mozilla Calendar (latest build 2004121719-cal, Linux) with a WebDAV server to show 2 remote calendars and one local calendar. Suddenly, one of the remote calendars' events completely stopped showing, while the other two calendars are still shown. Reloading the calendar doesn't help. Unchecking and checking again the calendar in the calendars list doesn't help. When I add a new appointment to the calendar, it is apparently added to the remote calendar (the progress icon turns for some time), but not shown. I have tried using the Windows version (on anoth...

How to set-up a CalDAV Google Calendar in Mozilla Calendar / Lightning
I've just figured this out and am posting here in hope it's useful: Google Calendar now supports "CalDAV", a presumably better standard for remotely shared and writable data (no more need for the "Provider for Google Calendar" add-on to have write access). To set up your calendars in Lightning: 1. Go to your online Google Calendar, select "Settings / Calendars / Share This Calendar", then enter the Google Mail e-mail address of the person you want to share your calendar with (I think they must also have a Google Calendar account). 2. C...

HOWTO: Print calendar in Mozilla Calendar / Sunbird on Linux
Many have reported that it is not possible to print a calendar in Mozilla Calendar for Linux. The problem is described in bug #268179: you can preview the calendar, but not print it (because simply the "Print" button is missing). This occurs on Linux (with non-xprint-enabled builds, which all official builds are), and maybe on other platforms. But there's a workaround: To show the print preview, Mozilla Calendar creates a temporary file "calendarPrint.html" (or "calendarPrint-1.html" and so on, if the previous one exists already). On Linux, this in ...

Mozilla Calendar <--> Mozilla Sunbird
Hi, I have been going through Mozilla Sunbird searching for references to "Mozilla Calendar" and found alot - even on the About page. I think Mozilla Calendar and Mozilla Sunbird should be much more independant from each other, for example like Mozilla Mail & Mozilla Calendar. What do you think?
