transporting settings/emails from mozilla-mail to mozilla-mail
I've got a really, really big problem. I'm working with mozilla-mail
on an Linux OS for about 2 or 3 years. Two months ago my harddisk
crashed. To keep on working , I set up a new Linux OS with the new
mozilla-mail. Now the harddisk is repaired. I could reach my mails and
setings (filter, accounts...) of the last 2 or 3 Years again, if I
knew how to import these information from the old system into the new
Help needed, because I'm without any e-mail-address of the last 2 or 3

The installer should offer to import Mozilla profile data. If not, this
article should point you in the right direction:

I am making Thunderbird my default mail client. Now I need to import my
addressbook, setings and mail from Mozilla Mail. So why when I go to
import in Thunderbird I am given the option of importing from OE,
Outlook, Eudora and Communicator 4, but not Mozilla. Do I need to
export from Mozilla into a new folder and then move it to Thunderbird?

I was using Mozilla, and decided to try thunderbird. Can I import my
email from my old mozilla into tbird?
Assume I already have Mozilla installed.
When I install Firefox, it would be nice if it would give me the option
of importing/using all of the preferences I already have in Mozilla (at
least, those that apply). The bookmarks file too.
Also, minor bug (I think).
I *never* install things into C:\Program Files.
When I installed Firefox into C:\Internet\Firefox, the shortcuts for the
license.txt and readme.txt could not be found.

I have a big problem.
I recently started using Thunderbird 1.0.7 on Windows XP and I found it
very nice. So I decided to leave "Mozilla 1.7 mail client" and transfer
all old mail to Thunderbird (on another PC).
So I copied all old files ( Inbox, Inbox.msf, Sent, Sent.msf, etc ) to
the new PC in the Thunderbird directories (...Application
Data/Thunderbird/profiles/<my profile here>/Mail/Local Folders).
All seemed to go well: I can easily read my old messages, etc
....but surprisingly I can't see *all* my messages in Inbox folder.

Copy the files from your Mozilla profile into your Thunderbird profile
and vice versa. Address books have the *.mab extension, the mails are
stored in folders /mail/ (they have no extension, e.g. INBOX).

I was using Mozilla Thunderbird as my default mail software.
Unfortunately, after introducing a new account and corresponding new
SMTP address, Thunderbird has gone haywire--even after removing the
account and uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird.
Until I fix this problem, I am using Mozilla Mail as my default mail
However, when I click on an Internet hyperlink in e-mail messages opened
up in Mozilla Mail, the Mozilla browser opens.
I'd rather have this operation lead me directly to Mozilla Firefox.
Any thoughts on how I can bring this about?
