TB60b7 release notes

>From the TB60b7 release notes:

"The attachment pane can also be shown initially when composing a new
message. Right-click on the header to enable this option."

Can anyone explain what 'Right-click on the header' means?
Thanks.

Right click in the message header where you enter the address of the
recipient, Subject, etc.

It doesn't seem to work in my 60.0b7 on Linux, but I do see an Attach
button in the upper right hand corner of the Composition Toolbar.

There is nothing related to attachments or an attachment pane option
when I right-click there.
openSUSE Leap 15

I do see the Attach button as well, but that's about it.

Quickly looking over the bug I don't think it has got anything to do
with the above release note.

Maybe it was another bug.

I think the release note is wrong, but I don't recall testing on Windows.

Just tested on Windows10 TB60.0b7 and the release note is wrong. There
is an Attach button.

I commented in the release notes tracking bug.

So having the Attachment Pane showing in the Composition Window, then
right clicking where indicated in the Attachment Pane header, enabling
"Initially Show Attachment Pane", always shows the Attachment Pane in a
new composition or reply window.

Got it!

The release notes are still confusing, because "Right-click on the
header to enable this option." doesn't make it clear the Attachment Pane
header is the the header meant.

Maybe "Right click on the Attachment Pane header to enable this option."
might be better?

And thanks for clearing up the confusion!

Oh boy, one has to right-click on the empty space to the right of the '0
attachments' label.
If right-clicking on the '0 attachments' label itself, there's an
entirely different context menu.
So the release note statement is more than confusing.

With that knowledge I can check the option 'Initially show attachment pane'.
However when opening a new Write window, there's no attachment pane
shown. The option is still checked though.
This goes for both, TB 64-bit on Linux and TB 32-bit on Win10.
Am I missing something?

Try safe mode? A test profile?

It works for me in both Windows and Linux. Works in HTML or Plain Text
composition, replies, followups and  reply list.

I just tested on Windows.

It appears to work in safe mode. I have re-enabled all the add-ons which
were disabled by Thunderbird 60 beta due to not being marked as
compatible. It may well be one of those causing the attachment pane not
to appear automatically, despite setting the option.
I'm not really curious to find out which one it is though.
