TB 6.0b9 mbox - maildir conversion

Hi,

Using TB 60.0b9 I am trying to convert an account from mbox to maildir
format.

After responding continue to
"The messages in the account xxxxxx@xxxx.xxx will now be converted to
the maildir format. Thunderbird will restart after the conversion is
complete."

I always get the error
"Conversion failed. 0% done"
without further explanation.

What is wrong ? Where is the problem ?

Regards
Helmut

Don't know and don't know.

I changed the pref as mentioned in the release notes, and successfully
converted a POP3 account, IMAP account and newsgroups account.

I'm running 60.0b9(32-bit) on Windows10 in a test user account, with a
test profile.

Some more information on what operating system, TB version and language,
extensions installed, any antivirus app.

Have you tried in Safe Mode?

If it fails in safe mode, as Walt suggests, then best you file a bug report

It is done now.

I deleted all (empty) subdirectories like *.mozmsgs and all the *.msf
files, leaving only the data files like Inbox, Sent, ... intact.
Then the conversion was ok.

Greetings,
Couldn't resist commenting on this. :-)
I've been experimenting with Thunderbird beta 60.0b9 and having trouble wit=
h the mbox to maildir conversion too, and after posting on Bugzilla, I rece=
ived some very helpful advice from the team there (in particular, Jorg K). =
I don't think you need to delete the .msf files, just the .mozmsgs folders.=
Check Bugzilla bug IDs 1472524 and 1470729 if you like.
Kind regards,
Roger V.

Roger,

thank you for the information, It will help me the next time I need it.
I also thought that deleting .msf files would not be necessary , but as
they are recreated anyway ....

deleting .msf is not mentioned in the related bug report
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1472524 - and I don't think
he was implying that it was necessary, just that he did it "just in case".
