Newsfeed bug with TABS at Space.com

Good day.

Can anyone test this?

Subscribe to the Space.com RSS newsfeed at
https://www.space.com/home/feed/site.xml, download the feed, then,
making sure you've got reading of messages in TABs enabled, double-click
an article to read it in a tab. For me, from that moment on, opening
another TAB opens an empty TAB. It could be opening an email, a
newsgroup message, or another newsfeed article, it doesn't matter, TABs
are now broken until TB restart. The only way around this for me is to
tell TB to open messages in separate windows. It does the same thing in
safeMode. I use TB38, wondering if this is fixed in newer Thunderbirds.

Thank you.
Best Regards,

Will no one try this? Takes 10 seconds to subscribe to a feed and open
an article, and you can just delete the feed afterwards...

Thank you.

Should I use the Thunderbird 38.8.0 you are posting with, or can I use
this 60.0b2 version?

Tested using TB 60.0b2, the first article opens in a tab, the next opens
a blank new window.

Closing that blank new window quits Thunderbird, restarting Thunderbird
it opens with the first and second article appearing in tabs.

Selecting a tab and using the N key to go to the Next Unread message, or
the P key to go to the Previous message doesn't work.

Tested with another feed and this Space.com feed either broke my TB, or
I found a bug.

Removed the Space.com feed and TB is working properly. 😂

Latest, I already know it's broken in TB38. I WANT to use newer TB but
the 2 themes I like are either broken or not yet updated. I have annual
contact with the authors, but so far no luck in getting a working theme
for newer TB.

Hmmm, looks like maybe it is kinda fixed? For me it opens in TAB okay,
but after reading one article ALL new tabs are blank. I've been
right-clicking on articles and selecting open-in-new-window to read that
feed.

Yeah, it breaks my TB for sure. Alright, your results are not consistent
enough for me to open a bug on bugzilla, they will just say that my TB38
is too old lol. I'll revisit once I can upgrade.

Thanks!
Best Regards,
