mozilla.org vs mozilla.com

I did a google search for thunderbird and had mozilla.com coming first
in the search results and so I went there and downloaded it. But then I
thought wasn't it supposed to be mozilla.org. So I went to mozilla.org
also and download a version of thunderbird from there too. Now the two
copies of thunderbird for windows setup programs were marked as of the
same version (1.5.0.7), but the sizes are different. I wonder what's
wrong. If mozilla.com and mozilla.org are both legitimate sites, why
did they have to confuse us like this?

Mozilla.com was created so consumers could more easily find the
site. Mozilla.org is more geared to developers. I don't know
why the files are different sizes; perhaps the .com version has
something included that the .org doesn't

Perhaps its different for a Mac user, but when I follow links to
download TB from mozilla.org, I end up at mozilla.com, with the same
download page, and, of course, same file size, 17.7 MB.

Different sizes? You sure about that?
If I go to www.mozilla.org, the Thunderbird link takes me to
<http://www.mozilla.com/>. It says right on the front page, "Looking for
Firefox or Thunderbird? You'll find them and a whole lot more at
Mozilla.com."
You'll have to be more specific about where you went to download the files.

Thunderbird 3 vs Thunderbird 2
Guys, I just tried upgrading from Thunderbird 2 to 3 beta (using Fedora rawhide which uses Thunderbird 3 beta 2). Now I thought I'd post something peculiar I found concerning posting to newsgroups (and apparently also SMTP sending). I have set up in my setting for the newsgroup to use my outgoing SMTP server. This SMTP server is to use authentication. After upgrade to Thunderbird 3, I couldn't post or send emails... My SMTP server doesn't support authentication!
