Composer text and background color not working.

Greetings, I am using the current version of TB 52.4.0, 32bit in WIN7.
Composer (write) feature will no longer change text or text background
colors. I have looked through options, settings, Mozilla help, TB help
and see nothing that addresses this issue. The issue occurs in safe
mode as well. I have disabled addons one at a time and eventually all
of them...no joy.
I don't use that feature often so I'm not sure at what TB version it
quit working or if it ever worked in this version.

*Are you using HTML composing? Colors only work if you are composing in
HTML format.
