Who's monkeying with the mozilla.support.seamonkey: record in my news.mozilla.com.rc file?

Every several months something corrupts the contents of the
mozilla.support.seamonkey: record in the news.mozilla.com.rc file of my
SM profile. All of a sudden, all of the unread articles in the newsgroup
are marked as read. This happens in between news reading sessions.

i.e. when I connect to the server the next time, the number of unread articles
reported has dropped from whatever it was when I ended the previous reading
session, down to only the number of new articles that have just arrived.
If I open the .rc file with an editor, the record for the newsgroup has been
modified to show most of the articles for the newsgroup, as having been
already read.

Since this is happening in between news reading sessions, I think that,
it must be happening when the .rc file is being rewritten, saved back
from memory to disk.

Have any of you also encountered this bug. Is it a known bug, since?...,
I have had it byte me several times in the last year or so, until it's
finally annoyed me enough to write.

Seamonkey 2.0, support for html attributes 'ALT' and 'TITLE'
Since I upgraded to Seamonkey 2.0 it looks like I don't any more get 'tool tips' texts when I move the mouse over links having the html attributes 'TITLE' and/or 'ALT' filled. This worked with pre 2.0 Seamonkey releases. Do I miss something or did I encounter a bug/feature? How do I import SeaMonkey v2.0.14's addressbooks into SeaMonkey v2.9.1's addresbooks?
Hello! I did a clean installation of v2.9.1 and manually copied over my old SM v2.0.14 addressbooks, bookmarks, and e-mails to my Linux/Debian box. I got my bookmarks imported manually, but I can't seem to import my old addresssbooks from *.mab files. Do I really have to export them to non ..mab formats and then import from them? Seamonkey 2.0 news support
Seamonkey 2.0b2 (and earlier) doesn't seem to fetch news headers when you open mail/news, like 1.x did. You have to click on an individual newsgroup before it does so. Seamonkey support
I called support for help in transferring email from one hard drive to another after a crash. It took all day, after being disconnected twice and leaving my credit card info on one of those, I was finally able to reach the second live person. I explained that I needed to transfer my email from the previous account to the new one, gave cc info again and was walked through the process to restore the needed files. When I told the person I needed the steps for my second email address, I was told that it would be another $39.95. He refused to help without another charge. luckil...

MacAfee Doesn't Support Seamonkey?
My wife's broadband internet (cable) service was switched from TimeWarner Road Runner to Comcast. The Computer Associates security products (firewall, antivirus, etc.) that came free with Road Runner no longer can be updated, and she's supposed to switch to the free MaCafee security products, but they only support IE and Firefox, not Seamonkey (their web site will not allow the download using Seamonkey, and I'm guessing even if I used IE to download it, they probably wouldn't protect while surfing with Seamonkey). So, what is a good firewall and antivirus for ...
