Three problems with german edition of seamonkey 2.x E-Mail folders, file saving, context menus and java script

Dear group,

i have three problems with seamonkey 2.02 german edition on windows XP.

1st E-Mail folders

I have a large inbox and on earlier versions of seamonkey it was easily
possible to change the name of the inbox file with the explorer, if
seamonkey is not running. After the new start of the programme,
seamonkey has recovered that the inbox file is missing and has generated
a new empty inbox file (new seamonkey makes this too).
The old seamonkey has displayed the renamed folder with its new
filename. New seamonkey shows two inbox folders.
At the old seamonkey, the message filters are still active for the new
empty inbox folder. At the new seamonkey, the message filter is empty.

2nd. Saving websites

When I want to save a website to the hard disc I have problems with file
browsing. When I move the scroll bar to find the right folder, the
scroll bar of the file browsing tool doesn't stop scrolling. I just want
to scroll e.g. 10 lines down, but when I release the mouse button, the
browsing tool just proceeds scrolling. I have tried this with other
programmes or other mouses. It only occurs at the new version of seamonkey.

3rd Saving german ebay sites

The german ebay site uses a special window to show large pictures of the
pieces at the auction in a kind of gallery page. With the old version of
seamonkey, it was possible to select one of the small thumbnail pictures
at the right side of the gallery page to show the large version of this
pic on the right side of the gallery page. Then one can select the right
mouse button menu to save the complete site (save picture is not
available, probably because of a java application which is responsible
for this interactive behaviour).
On the new version of seamonkey, the entries of the right mouse button
menu change, if I have clicked on another thumbnail before. In this new
context menu, only the positions copy, select all, view source-code of
selection occurs. At the old version of seamonkey, this change in the
context entries doesn't occur on the same sides. The entries back / fore
/ reload / stop / add bookmark / save site / show background graphics /
copy / select all / view source-code are always available even if I
click on another thumbnail.

Can someone help with these three problems?

Install Folder Flags:
<http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmailnews.html#folderflags>
And remove the "Inbox" flag from the renamed inbox folder.

No Idea sorry.

> 3rd Saving german ebay sites

Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts & Plugins -> Allow scripts
to: [ ] Disable or replace context menus.

Yes, thanks. It works.

I have activated the option soft scrolling in (german:
Einstellungen/Erscheinungsbild/Inhalte) english:
Preferences/lookout?/content?

this was disabled. I have enabled the option box, but this doesn t
influence the behaviour. A strange thing is, that I can save this
gallery page once if I dont have clicked on one of the thumbnail. But
after I have clicked on another one, it doesnt work.

You can check it out if you visit http.www.ebay.de and then you select
an auction with more than one pic. In the auction page you can see the
image of the item and some thumbnails below. If you click on the pic of
the item, another window opens with the large pic you have selected and
on the right side of the window some thumbnails.
First try to save the popup window / site as complete website (right
click, save site as). Then click on a thumbnail at this popup window and
try again to save the window as complete website. The context menu has
changed.

SeaMonkey 2.0.2 on Snow Leopard
Hi there, I just installed SeaMonkey here on my Mac and am using my .Mac account with it. However, there are many old, now removed, folders showing up in the IMAP folder list. I have tried deleting them but they keep coming back! I also took them off the Offline browsing list. No change. Each time I open SM mail I get many error messages indicating the folder doesn't exist (one message for folder). Ii did have SeaMonkey installed previously probably a year ago, and have also had ThunderBird on here as well (no longer resident), so I'm wondering if this is somet...

Problem with imported e-mail profile Seamonkey 2.0
When I tried to send e-mail with Seamonkey 2.0, I kept getting the following message: Sending of message failed. An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP server mailhost.worldnet.att.net. It does not support authentication (SMTP-AUTH) but you have chosen to use authentication. Uncheck 'Use name and password' for that server or contact your service provider. Going over the Mail Account Settings, nowhere did I have checked any type of authentication request. The only way I could correct this was to manually edit prefs.js. There was a line use...

SeaMonkey 2.15 Update Lost E-mail Files
On both my and my wife's PCs, we have used SeaMonkey since it first became available. On my wife's PC, running XP-Home, fully updated, SeaMonkey 2.15 automatically installed itself a day or so ago. The latest Java update also installed itself the same day. When the machine was booted this morning, the e-mail menu and icons that used to come up were missing and SeaMonkey called for a new e-mail account to be set up. Other than the missing e-mail menus, everything else in SeaMonkey seems to be working properly. This situation reminds me of a previous SeaMonkey upgrad...

SeaMonkey 1.0.2
Greetings! I hope I can explain what my problem is. After a certain (and variable) period of time, I can no longer use the mail function of SeaMonkey for anything other than receiving mails. If I try to forward or reply to an e-mail, the line for the recipient is "grayed-out", if that is the right term. And I can no longer compose a new message either. As an example, this happened right now: I had to restart SM. That always solves the problem, but is a bit tedious. I would be grateful for any suggestions. Best wishes, Charley -- Charles Milton Ling Vien...

Seamonkey 2.1/2.2 breaking Java plugin support on Centos 5 Linux?
I'm a long-time user of Seamonkey, from since it was called Mozilla. The recent 2.1 and 2.2 updates seem to have broken Java support on my Centos 5.5 box (32 bits) and I really can't figure this out. Seamonkey is installed in /usr/local. Starting from 2.1, the /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins directory is gone. As per the release notes, plugins are now managed on a per-user basis in $HOME/.mozilla/plugins So far, so good. I used to have a link in /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins pointing to /usr/local/jre1.6.0_12/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so (I install Sun's...

Seamonkey 2.2 mail client temporary files deletion failure
Seamonkey 2.2 mail client temporary files deletion failure - On Seamonkey 2.2 and 2.1, it has been noted that the mail client (i.e. Messenger) fails to delete temporary files such as NSCOPY.TMP and NSEMAIL.EML from the Windows temporary folder. In previous versions of SM including 1.X and 2.X up to before 2.1, these temporary files would be deleted and cleaned up properly by the mail client. Hopefully, developers will see this and include this issue for future version bug fixes. ...

Acrobat (and its plugin) has problems mailing with Seamonkey 2.0 as the default mail program.
Hi, Acrobat (I still use 7.1 Professional) in WinXP (and its plugin) has problems mailing with Seamonkey 2.0 as the default mail program. I get the (not very helpful) message "Beim Senden von Nachrichten ist ein Fehler aufgetreten" (rough translation: An error has happened while sending messages). This used to work with SeaMonkey 1.1.x. Any idea? Should I open a bug report? Seamonkey 2.2 e-mail client : where has right=click "Paste as quotation" gone ?
Just attempted to reply to a friend's e-mail having first reformatted the original text in an external editor to have line breaks at or before column-72 (he is one of those annoying people who insist on sending infinitely long lines), only to find that right-click "Paste as quotation" has disappeared. It is still possible from the Edit menu, but I am so used to accessing it from a right-click that I feel distinctly lost without it. SeaMonkey 2.0 fails to import all my mail folders and everything ticked in the selection what should be imported.
