Seamonkey 2.2 to 2.3.1 Fer it or Again it?

So I got 2.2, a huge disappointment with lots of annoying bugs in mail
and one big one in web (RMB context menu bug).
The new level of issues makes me scared to update, even though this is
the most buggy version of since perhaps Moz 0.6.

So what are the big new 2.3.1 issues that were not in 2.2? Should I be
scared or should I update? I have never had an update before 2.2 that I
questioned going back before.

The following page lists all fixes that 2.3.1 contains but 2.2 doesn't:
<http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.3/changes>

As you can see, the context menu issue is fixed as well as some MailNews
issues like the one with Advanced Search.

From 2.1.2 to 3.1 or 2.1.2 to 3.0.13 to 3.1
I'm checking back in after being away for a couple of months and I missed the 3.1 release. I can't seem to find any info on what's new in 3.1 and also what the upgrade path should be. So, is the recommended path for upgrading from v 2.1.2 to go directly to 3.1 or do I need to go to 3.0.13 first? Are there any big issues in 3.1 that make it a "gotta have it" version?I did a couple of 2.1.2 to 3.0.12 upgrades but haven't upgraded to or tested 3.1 yet. I have one 2.1.2 site that is commercial and I need it to be down as little time as possible. It also has a lot of third party modules...

SeaMonkey 1.1.18 vs SeaMonkey 2.1 (if/when 2.1 is released)
I will clearly state that I am not a computer whiz...thus, I have a number of concerns regarding SeaMonkey 2.0 installation on my system. I have been reading the many SeaMonkey 2.0 messages on this newsgroup with some concern about my ability to fix the problems that could occur with the installation of 2.0. It seems that the move from 1.1.18 to 2.0 is not happening without a number of glitches along the way. Thus, in light of what I have read, I am wondering if it would wise for me to wait for a future release of SeaMonkey before upgrading my system...I suppose I am hoping tha...

Same profile in Seamonkey 2.4.1 and Seamonkey 2.6.1 ?
Hi, I will switch a computer from windows to linux and from Seamonkey 2.6.1 to Seamonkey 2.4.1 (I don't know why Ubuntu only have 2.6.1 on Precise alpha release). I think there no big differences between these two releases that will bring bug into profile. Am I false? On my computer I directly use Seamonkey from Mozilla, on that computer I don't want to have work, so I only keep Ubuntu repositories. -- Sorry for possible mistakes in English! http://pasdenom.info/ Stphane Grgoire wrote: > Hi, > > I will switch a computer from windows to linux and...

SeaMonkey 2.1
An increasing number of features are diverging between Gecko 1.9.2 and Gecko 1.9.3; this gives us a number of options, with pros and cons for each, but please don't consider this an exhaustive list. 1. Stick with 1.9.2 for now, don't use 1.9.3 features at all * Pro: We know what features we have to port * Con: Lots of catching up on trunk after comm-central forks/after releasing 2.1 2. Write code using feature detection for 1.9.3/backward compatibility for 1.9.2 * Pro: More flexible than any other option * Co...

Seamonkey 2.1/2.2 breaking Java plugin support on Centos 5 Linux?
I'm a long-time user of Seamonkey, from since it was called Mozilla. The recent 2.1 and 2.2 updates seem to have broken Java support on my Centos 5.5 box (32 bits) and I really can't figure this out. Seamonkey is installed in /usr/local. Starting from 2.1, the /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins directory is gone. As per the release notes, plugins are now managed on a per-user basis in $HOME/.mozilla/plugins So far, so good. I used to have a link in /usr/local/seamonkey/plugins pointing to /usr/local/jre1.6.0_12/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so (I install Sun's...

Dropping 1.9.2, Going 1.9.3 for SeaMonkey 2.1
[re-post of http://home.kairo.at/blog/2010-02/dropping_1_9_2_going_1_9_3_for_seamonkey here in the groups/lists] I blogged on SeaMonkey 2.1 planning earlier in http://home.kairo.at/blog/2010-01/seamonkey_2_1_planning and also about the fact that we have been unsure if we should go 1.9.2 or 1.9.3 in terms of the platform there. I sent mails to the SeaMonkey Council and a few quite active developers in the last days, and asked for opinions on dropping support for 1.9.2 and going for firmly basing SeaMonkey 2.1 on Mozilla platform 1.9.3 instead. Nobody was really against th...

From 2.1.2 to 3.2 ?
Hi everyone!I've been away from DNN for quite some time, feels good to be back. Hi to anyone who remembers me. Just starting to look at taking our intranet portal from 2.1.2 to, I guess, 3.2. We have 3rd party modules and custom code. Is there a best practice for the upgrade/migration? Just looking for some guidelines. Thanks in advance. I'm no expert, but I too had a 2.12 site in which I migrated to 3.1.1While researching the migration, many suggested that I had to remove all of my third party modules first.  Then perform the upgrade.  Then add as many third party DNN 3.x mod...

Font rendering changes between SeaMonkey 2.1 and 2.3.3?
I finally decided to try updating from SeaMonkey 2.1. My first step was to move to 2.3.3 because that's what I had in my download directory. However, I immediately noticed that the rendering of my UI font (Midori) is now wonky. Letters are spaced more widely, and rather unevenly, making them quite uncomfortable to read. Compare, SeaMonkey 2.1: http://users.socis.ca/~ataylo00/seamonkey-2_1_midorifont.png SeaMonkey 2.3.3: http://users.socis.ca/~ataylo00/seamonkey-2_3_3_midorifont.png So, what changed in terms of font rendering between 2.1 and 2.3.3, does anyone recall? ...

Seamonkey 2.2-2.3.3 Individual History Item Will No Longer Delete :-(
I upgraded one of my installations of Seamonkey 2.0.14 to 2.2. Once I had upgraded I noticed I was unable to delete history item in the history window. I can however delete *.domain.com or www.doamin.com. I figured this would have been fixed in a later Seamonkey update. But after two or three more updates the problem continues. This happens on clean installs as well as upgraded installations. Developers: Please fix! I make heavy use of my history. Never done upgrade before. Have a 2.1.2 site w/many custom (purchased) modules, some of which are no longer supported. Don't see *any* info in 3.1 install docs for 2.1.2 upgrade?
Hey folks: I'm about to try something very scary, and I've spent the last 5 or so hours reading DNN 3.1 docs and doing searches here (sure which the search worked better, like allowed sort by date??).  Anyway, I don't see *any* info on updating a 2.1.2 site to a 3.1 site.  The only examples all have machine key stuff and other stuff that's not an issue (or is it?) w/2.1.2 Here's the situation: 1 I have localhost access to the site via remote desktop 2. I have disconnected backed up data and log files and reconnected 3. I have made a copy of the virtual folder. No...

I just reinstalled the SBS 6 with the NW6 SP3 Overly cd and i put web access, iprint, dhcp/dns, naas on the initial install. I then proceded to upgrade edir to 8.7.1 ( i updated jvm and the other stuff that 8.7.1 required first) and everything went great. I then udated imanager from 1.2.2. to 2.0.1 and the install went as expected no errors or anything. Here is the problem when i surf to iManager with internet exploder 6 it shows me i am using 1.2.2. Hi, I've uploaded the second release candidate for the upcoming SeaMonkey 2.1. There were no OS/2 specific changes compared to the recently published release candidate 1.
