mboximport SM 1.1.1

Has anyone comments on the mboximport for Seamonkey.
from:

http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html

Shows as succesful install, but I can't figure out how/if the darn thing
works.

(xsidebar installed)

running:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2)
Gecko/20070222 SeaMonkey/1.1.1 ID:2007022206

Modern theme

Any details on HOW to configure and steps to export/import mail folders
is greatly appreciated.

Quote from Philips page: 'MboxImport makes the import/export of mbox
files very easy.

To import, you must select the destination folder, then right-click and
choose the item 'Import mbox file' from the menu 'Import/export'. To
export, simply right-click on the folder or on the account and to choose
the item you want from the menu 'Import/export'. The menu is also under
'Tools'."

I hope this helps.

I have downloaded the XPI and looked into it, and it seems that it
normally inserts the Import/Export menu just above menu item "JavaScript
Console" but the menupopup node is different in SeaMonkey because there
it is a sub menu called: "Web Development".

I would suggest to extract the file content/mboximport/mboximport.xul
from mboximport.jar to c:/mboximport/mboximport.xul and change:

insertbefore="javaScriptConsole"

into:

insertbefore="downloadmgr"

As a last step; add the changed file to the jar file and start SeaMonkey
again. Did that work?

However, there should also be a context menu entry called:
"Import/Export" (or something like that) in the left folder pane, so do
you see that, or not?

Thanks Michael, for the effort - hacking around in the .mboximport.xul
has No effect - I have NO REFERENCE to mboximport anyplace except when
Mucking around in the xsidebar.....and then the reference is cryptic at
best....Nothing in the Left pane that I can find. ( not as evident as
when in TB.)

Hopefully there is someone that has it working in SM that can contribute.

Thanks again for the efforts

You're welcome, and I now installed the package myself and there it is:
mport/Export in mbox/eml format " and this even without hacking into
the source. A new "Import/Export" context menu option is also there in
the left folder pane.

I now suspect that the installation on your computer might have looked
ok, but wasn't, so lets go look into this by opening the log file
install.log in the SeaMonkey program directory. Ah yes, this is what I
have after the installation:

Thanks again Michael,

I will have to get back to you a little later.
Quick look and I see the install log - similar to what you have, the
main difference is that I have SM program install to E:/ drive ( not hte
C:/ divbe default location)

Beats me, Have tried un-instll mboximport several times- deleted
c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application
Data\Mnk_10b\Profiles\working1\pzbozxob.slt\chrome\mboximport.jar (after
uninstall) - even tried NEW fresh profile - still no go.
Thanks for all your time - it really isn't worth all the efforts to get
the darn thing going in SM - it works as it should in TB (with TB
installed to E:/ drive) must be something on MY machine.

thanks again

Right Click on any folder you should see an extra menu option called
Import/Export. Here is a screenshot:

Hope this helps.

SeaMonkey 1.0.8 and 1.1.1
Hi localizers, Sorry for not informing you earlier on, but first we had to do a few respins and then I was too busy with the FOSDEM conference... Anyways, we're about to release the newest SeaMonkey security and stability update releases right now, with the version numbers 1.0.8 and 1.1.1 Due to our L10n freezes, both work with the language packs from earlier versions (1.0 or 1.1), but if you want binary builds up on FTP, you need to regenerate them for those versions. Both are already up in their respective release directories: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozill...

Javascript, SM 1.1.1
I seem to have developed a problem with javascript; namely, it's always on. I generally enable/disable it through a checkbox in prefbar. Thinking that prefbar might be the source of the problem, I reloaded the page and tried disabling javascript through the preferences menu, but it made no difference. Lastly, I reloaded the page and disabled quick launch, but that too made no difference. As an example, with javascript disabled you should have the equivalent of a dead link (I think) when you click on any of the four thumbnails under the words "Select a picture" in this...
