Problem with FOX video and Mozilla

When trying to view a FOX 41 video I get a message that says I need ActiveX
plugin for it to work. How do you go about that? I just upgraded to the
latest Mozilla 2.2 (I think that was it).
Thanks for the help,
Carol Trainer, Prospect, KY

It would be of assistance if you provided the url of where this video is

Active X is a propriety coding of Microsoft, it is their browsing
scripting plus code (in that it can control their browser IE plus some
elements of the system as well). It is the extension to the browser
scripting (plus the intregation of IE into the system) that makes Active
X such a security risk.

Webmasters should be encouraged to code without Active X.

That being said, there is an Active X plug in for Firefox, that enables
elements of Active X (those to deal with plug ins), that allow you to
play some (most? all?) active X launched media files

Problems seeing video in Firefox
Hi I have Firefox 1.5.0.4 in XP Home. When I go to a CNN website and click on a video link, the video loads in a popup window and works fine. However when I tried clicking on a video link in the Foxnews website http://www.foxnews.com/ontherecord/ ("missing in paradise"), the same popup window appeared but the video did not load. How do I troubleshoot this problem? Thanks. Jeff Jeff a băgat versurile:: > Hi > > I have Firefox 1.5.0.4 in XP Home. Firefox, HTML5 video and support.
I asked this question directly to the Mozilla people, but I do not know if they are in on a weekend. I have a launch coming up tomorrow and I need to know what I am doing wrong in HTML5 code for video support. The particular web page is here: http://www.readingsbykaren.com/new/ The video, 640x480 is on the bottom of the page. I looked at a Firefox welcome video and it suggests that they support .webm but I thought they supported .ogg. If you look at the code, I start out with .mp4 video because I understand that it must be first for mobile browsers and that does work, I have c...

Firefox video downloader problems
Hi. I've used the video downloader in the past. With no problems. A while back, the icon vanished. I don't have any idea why. I've now updated to forefox 2.0. I've downloaded video downloader 1.1.1 I can see that the VD is in my add-on tools. Yet I still don't see the icon on my toolbar. Not at the top, or bottom. I've tried reinstall. No dice. I know I can take the URL and do it that way, but I'd like to be able to download a video without having to do that. Phil300@gmail.com wrote: > Hi. I've used the video downloader in the past. Problem with Youtube Videos with Latest Firefox
Hi. I regularly use Firefox on a Windows 7 32-bit system. I regularly run Noscript and Adblockplus as addons and I have somehow always been able to play Youtube videos, even with Adobe Flash Player disabled. With the latest version, I am unable to play Youtube videos unless I enable Adobe Flash, even though I've switched Youtube to using HTML5, which is very odd. Disabling Noscript and Adblockplus don't allow videos to play. Can anyone offer a guess as to what may have happened? I think it started with Firefox 35. -- Feel free to visit my Web site http://www.davidgo...

native HTML5 video support in Firefox
My Firefox 6.02 fails to play native HTML5 sound. I tried it on this video: 'HTML5 Video Player | VideoJS' (http://videojs.com/) Works fine in Windows, natively played by Firefox (right clicking shows the HTML5 video dialog). In Linux Firefox the video plays OK, but without sound. I stripped my Firefox from other media plug-ins, so there is no conflict possible. How to enable native sound? Or is this a bug I should report? -- comunica2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I just tried it. Works great. The sound is impressi...
