I did the 'Refresh Firefox' option. It has fixed the disappearance of
the Add-ons from the extensions management page. After some tweaking,
Firefox is almost back to its pre-problem state. The one thing that
didn't get carried over was my cookie management settings and all of the
custom permissions I had set for various sites. The loss of the cookie
management data for all the sites I had set was particularly
frustrating. This loss seems unnecessary.
