Firefox 2.0.0.4 "invalid pointer" and doesn't start

Hi.
Problem is: when I try to start FF by /usr/local/firefox/firefox it shows:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x08ec0ef8 ***
When I try firefox -profilemanager:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x08bfd0e0 ***
/usr/local/firefox/run-mozilla.sh: line 131:  7395 Stopped
"$prog" ${1+"$@"}

The numbers in the end of those are random.

I've Mandriva 2006 FREE linux. As of the system requirements:
kernel                  2.6.12-12mdk
glibc-devel          2.3.6-4.1.20060mdk
XFree86             3.3.6-29mdk
gtk+2.0               2.8.3-4.2.20060mdk
fontconfig           2.3.2-5mdk
libstdc++5          3.3.6-2mdk

What do I do wrong? What do I need more? Help please.

Updated "Hello World" for Firefox 4.0 but button still doesn't show
I've built Myk Melez' Extension Bootcamp "Zero to Hello World! in 45 Minutes", following the video which is about halfway down this page. http://design-challenge.mozillalabs.com/resources/ The product works fine in Firefox 3.6. Can't End "Extra" Firefox.exe Process in Task Manager (Since 2.0.0.1 Update?) Also, it Loads at Windows Startup?
There's an "extra" Firefox.exe process running in my Windows XP Task Manager that I can't end. I think it's been there since I let the Firefox 2.0.0.1 update install. (By habit, I check my Task Manager pretty regularly.) If Firefox is actually running, there are two Firefox.exe processes in the Task Manager. If Firefox is closed, there's one. It's there at Windows startup. If I end the task, it starts right up again in about four seconds. I can't find what's starting it - not in the System Configuration Utility (msconfig.exe) | Startup tab...

Firefox 2.0 to 2.0.0.1 change in "for each (var element in array) {}"

I often use the following bit of code: for each (var element in myArray) { ... } However the code started to act strangely when i updated Firefox from version 2.0 to version 2.0.0.1. Normally this loop runs one time for each element in the array, setting the variable "element" to one of the elements in the array. Hovever in Firefox 2.0.0.1 sometimes the following function is added to the end of the list: function (value) { var i; for (i = 0; i < this.length; i++) { if (this[i] ...

Having a single X off the the far right reduced the chances that a user might accidentally close a tab when clicking quickly/sloppily. And the "button" extends beyond the left edge of the circle with the x in it, increasing the frequency with which you miss selecting a tab and close it instead. Then, as you open m...
