Firefox 2.0.0.16 didn't find 2.0.0.17 update?

Was it me or did Firefox v2.0.0.16 not find 2.0.0.17 update? This was on
an old laptop/notebook with Windows 98 SE. Thank you in advance. :)

I doubt the older versions of Firefox are still available. You'd be able
to tell which version you have on the PC by Help > About.

Uh, I did that. Old laptop/notebook had 2.0.0.16, I ran check for
update, and it found nothing. I checked
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html and it had 2.0.0.17
so I downloaded its English one.

Seems to be a problem at the Mozilla end, Ant. No updates available
for my Win98 SE Fx 2.0.0.16 yet either. This is a widely reported
problem. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457344

Glad to see you found

Thanks. I didn't know it was a bug. I thought Mozilla forgot or didn't
release a patch. :)

I did that already, but it takes longer to download and install than
doing an upgrade (small file).

There is that, but you wind up with lots of handy files, and can always
install the most recent version should you need to .. rather than having
to resort to an older version and redownload the patch if you lose your
beloved Fox.

I guess it would depend a lot on your connection speed and limits all up
though.
