Buggy firefox 220.127.116.11 and 18.104.22.168
Summary: Buggy firefox 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199
I don't know what changed since 188.8.131.52 but the new releases (184.108.40.206,
220.127.116.11) seem very buggy. Random crashes, slow responses and
additionally problems with administrator rights.
I had similar problems on 2 out of 2 systems. Best solution for me (and
probably a lot of other users) is to go back to 18.104.22.168 and disable

I am currently using a version of Firefox with the version number of
18.104.22.168. This is the second time that I have been told that it has now
been updated to a newer version of Firefox with a version number of
22.214.171.124. I assume that 126.96.36.199 is newer (and better) than version
188.8.131.52. How can I stop this "update"?

try and do an update from 184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11. I see the 18.104.22.168

Could someone please look into it, I have had no problems doing this up
to now with going from 22.214.171.124 to 126.96.36.199, why ?.

Ever since the updates to 184.108.40.206, our customers are not able to use
iNotes (Lotus Domino Webmail) to attach any emails. It is possible that
the fix "MFSA 2007-37 jar: URI scheme XSS hazard" is causing the
errors. Our only results is to have people downgrade back to 220.127.116.11 or
to use IE.
I know its not really a bug because the fix is for security purposes,
but many Lotus Notes users are not able to use iNotes to check their emails.

I just upgraded both my desktop and my laptop to FF v184.108.40.206 a couple days
ago. Both began doing the same annoying thing. When I click a URL
shortcut on my desktop or a link in my newsreader, an error box pops up
saying "File http://blahblahblah or one of its components not found. Make
sure the path and filename are correct." Then FF goes ahead and loads the
This doesn't happen if FF is already running. If it's not running, it
happens every time.
I just downloaded 220.127.116.11. Same story.

I am having a problem with the download options in the browser. Hope I can
explain this correctly so it makes sense.
I went to "options" "download" and tried changing it there for various
settings with no change. Problem just started with 2.0.01 and unfortunately
the browser updated to 126.96.36.199 before I could stop it but problems still

Firefox is turning into a piece of crap.
First, there is only 1 profile, the default profile.
Second, after the first 18.104.22.168 update wiped out the profile settings
(again), the automatic check for updates was turned off.
This morning the customized profile settings went MIA again, Firefox
decided it was version 22.214.171.124 (per the help, about firefox) and
automatically downloaded 126.96.36.199; even though 188.8.131.52 had already been
installed on July 31.

I am using SUSE Linux 10.0 and Kernel 2.6.13. With Yast I updated to FF
22.214.171.124. I want to update to 126.96.36.199 but Yast does not offer that as
an option. Is this due to my older kernel?
I've read on this forum that I should stick to specific repositories
when updating rather than use the general Linux FF release available at
mozilla.org. So where can I find FF x.16?
I am a linux novice on an old AMD K7 and would rather not upgrade my
kernel if it's not necessary.

I finally got the courage ( as I am not of the computer generation)
to update FF 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168, then to 22.214.171.124 at the invitation
almost insistence of Mozilla every time I use Firefox. Only 3
extensions not possible to update at this point, only really useful
extension is Auto Fill, wish the author might update for 126.96.36.199. The
update was flawless, Firefox continues to operate as before with, as I
notice while typing this message, an automatic spell checker, very
useful. Firefox is the best, continues to get better.
