FF 2.0 B1 - SSL V2.0

Hello,

Is there a way to enable SSL V2.0 in FF V2.0? FF is preventing me from
logging into a site saying that it is using "an insecure version of the
SSL protocol" (I'm assuming that that referring to SSL V2.0). I'd like
to be able to bypass this protection at my own discretion.

[I tried to add the following to my firefox.js file, but that didn't
seem to do the trick.

pref("security.enable_ssl2", true);

]

Thanks,
Jim

In FF 1.5.0.4 you do this through 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' >
'Security'

Has FF2.0 not got this facility?

_To all Firefox 2.0 Beta testers_:
This is a user-support newsgroup, not a testers forum. If you've got any
issues with any Firefox testers release, post in the
mozilla.dev.apps.firefox newsgroup.

I think what you're experiencing is a result of bug 236933.

kes - that option is no longer available in the UI. You can enable SSL
V2.0 in the security-prefs.js file, though.

Chris - I'll post to the mozilla.dev.apps.firefox newsgroup from now
on.

Thanks,
Jim

Firefox 2.0.0.2 & 2.0.0.3 niggly problem
I just upgraded both my desktop and my laptop to FF v2.0.0.2 a couple days ago. Both began doing the same annoying thing. When I click a URL shortcut on my desktop or a link in my newsreader, an error box pops up saying "File http://blahblahblah or one of its components not found. Make sure the path and filename are correct." Then FF goes ahead and loads the page. This doesn't happen if FF is already running. If it's not running, it happens every time. I just downloaded 2.0.0.3. Same story. Any clues? -- Dale Beckett Dale Beckett wrote:...

Firefox 2.0.0.6 Reverts back to 2.0.0.5 reinstalls 2.0.0.6, wipes out user settings
Firefox is turning into a piece of crap. First, there is only 1 profile, the default profile. Second, after the first 2.0.0.6 update wiped out the profile settings (again), the automatic check for updates was turned off. This morning the customized profile settings went MIA again, Firefox decided it was version 2.0.0.5 (per the help, about firefox) and automatically downloaded 2.0.0.6; even though 2.0.0.6 had already been installed on July 31. It now thinks it is 2.0.0.6, the home page and other profile settings have been reset, and automatic updates turned off for everyt...

How do I upgrade FF 2.0.0.10 to 2.0.0.16?
I am using SUSE Linux 10.0 and Kernel 2.6.13. With Yast I updated to FF 2.0.0.10. I want to update to 2.0.0.16 but Yast does not offer that as an option. Is this due to my older kernel? I've read on this forum that I should stick to specific repositories when updating rather than use the general Linux FF release available at mozilla.org. So where can I find FF x.16? I am a linux novice on an old AMD K7 and would rather not upgrade my kernel if it's not necessary. Thanks, Jon -- 6520302 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ...

FF Update to 2.0.0.4, 2.0.0.5
I finally got the courage ( as I am not of the computer generation) to update FF 1.5.0.12 to 2.0.0.4, then to 2.0.0.5 at the invitation almost insistence of Mozilla every time I use Firefox. Only 3 extensions not possible to update at this point, only really useful extension is Auto Fill, wish the author might update for 2.0.0.5. The update was flawless, Firefox continues to operate as before with, as I notice while typing this message, an automatic spell checker, very useful. Firefox is the best, continues to get better.
