More info:
After new install...
Only one Tab... completely blank.

Reset Firefox.
No change. The normal expected three tabs do not appear.

You could have clicked on the Offline Mode icon. To check this, Click
on the Hamburger Icon on the top right corner and then go to Developer
link (i.e. click on the Developer link). then look for something like this:

Hope this helps.

There was more dysfunction than it seemed at first.
Windows Update did not work, and the service would not run.
The hard drive passed ChkDsk, but was having read errors, but my only
symptom was slow for serious file copy, or back-up.
SFC /Scannow fixed some files.

I used an aged System restore back to where Windows update runs,
and skipping more details, I finally had a functionally operational
system still with read errors making is slow, then I cloned it to a new
hard drive. I got lucky here. It seems to work, and is much faster.
