today pane date

On opening Thunderbird the Today Pane in Show Mini-Day view, the date is
shown as 18 Sun, May 5555. Should be 18 Mon, Sep 2017.

Clicking on the Go to Today or One Day Backwards or One Day Forwards,
sets it to the correct month and year.

In Show Mini-Month view, the date is always correct.

Any ideas how to correct this whie keeping the default view at Mini-Day?

It is just a display issue and ought to be fixed with the next Lightning
5.8 Beta4 release (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1360914)
