new mailing list: perl6-general?Hi,
I would have some general Perl6 programming questions. Where should I ask
them? It's not about language design, not about compiling/compilers and
even not related to the internals.
As more and more people will start hacking Perl6, I think, that it would
be useful to having a list for this.
In this particular case, I would like to ask about creating a langugage
construct (maybe there's a desgin pattern for it, maybe not) for a web
templating system can be expanded by the user.
Bye,
Andras

Upgrading GW 6 to GW 6.5 in new server and new treeWhat is the best way to upgrade GW6 to GW6.5 to a new server in a new tree?
Move GW6 to the new server, get it working, then do the GW upgrade
See TID 10062848, be careful if there are any libraries involved
Cheers Dave

List of lists (listing of)Ted
In the great List 'o lists., is there something which is
along the lines of "Personal organisers" ?
I have googled and found others - just wondering about the lists
and couldn't see anything in there
I have a intense, executive type who's after something along the lines of
Lotus' personal organiser. Don't know why she wants to change from it
when I know she already has it installed.
Anybody else got suggestions for a good one?
(and dont't ask what I mean by good - it's not for me - perhaps I mean
effective)

STL List of List ClassIs there any reason why this will *not* compile using C++ Builder 2007 December Update?
Compiles using Visual Studio 2005.
#include <list>

{
private:
public:
Folder();
~Folder();
std::list<Folder> vSubFolders;

New URL for List of Lists!>followups to grc.techtalk<
Sorry to do this to you, but desperate situations call for desperate
measures. List of Lists will now be at http://lists.gpick.COM. Note "com"
instead of "net". This will be a permanent change. If ".net" ever makes it
to the DNS servers, it will also work, but will eventually be phased out.
The same change will be made to
Ted's Tip Quarry http://www.gpick.com/tq
Other sites on gpick.net will also be changed. Just change .net to .com.
Anybody who has my mail address in their address book should make the same

New List of Lists featuresAfter enduring endless whining and complaining from lazy users, I have been
forced to add some totally superfluous features to List of Lists:
All items listed on the New or Updated Links page and all items resulting from a
query of the Search utility now include direct links to the LoL entry, not just
the list page.
All entries now have anchor tags, making it easier to refer people to a specific
item on a page by adding a number to the URL for the page. For example,
http://lists.gpick.com/pages/port_lists.htm#1. The tag number for each item is
included on the title line for the ent...

New year New Avatar
It's new year & as this forum has evolved, plus some progress I've made
in linux over 2008. I put in a new avatar. It was selected mostly
because I've been exclusively Linux now for 2 years & have been
exclusively Suse since 10.2! I've been with Suse longer than any other
distro. In that time thanks to quite a few of the members here that
have helped both directly & indirectly. I've grown in linux, not a lot
IMO but some, I still am weak in CLI.
Then there is this forum it to has become a friendly & educational
place. In this new forum I now feel ...
New mail not showing at top of list in inboxI have a perplexing problem. One of my users is having a problem that when
a new item is received, it is not showing up at the top of his inbox. You
can see the unread increment and the screen wiggles shortly after as if it's
doing a refresh, but nothing shows up until they click to another folder and
then click back on the mailbox folder. Even hitting a refresh does not make
it appear.
They had this problem a couple of weeks ago and I determined at that time
that it may have something to do with a rule they have created that Links
new items to the Checklist folder (whi...
