Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 "Search Messages" won't accept input - won't work

Summary: Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 "Search Messages" won't accept input - won't work

Comments:
I've been using Mozilla Mail for more than a decade, dating to early
Netscape versions, using the "Search Messages" function regularly.
Now, having installed Thunderbird 2.0.0.6, that functionality is
suddenly lost. It doesn't display a box into which search strings may be
entered, and doesn't appear to offer choice of searching message bodies.

This is a huge loss to me.
Will reinstalling an earlier version correct this loss or is the system
corrupted in some way? A discussion group member Freddie43 described
this and said that he was only able to restore that functionality by
running a "clean" install on a different PC. I don't have another PC and
I don't want to lose access to years of stored information in these
research notes I've stored in these files.
Thanks,
John

"2.1pre" (RC2) and search results--can't do much in "Search Messages" window
I am running RC2 on Windows 7, 64-bit and find that when I use the "search messages" window, there is very little I can do with the listed search results. Click, double-click, and right-click do nothing on a search result item. While I can select any search result item, and highlight it, I can't open it with the "Open" button. (I can however delete it with the "Delete" button. "Open Message Folder" will open a new message window with the message selected.)) This is stuff I used to do all the time with earlier versions of SeaMon...

What is this doing: eval 'exec /usr/bin/perl -T -w -S $0 ${1+"$@"}' if 0;
I found this code in a script right after the she-bang line: eval 'exec /usr/bin/perl -T -w -S $0 ${1+"$@"}' if 0; # not running under some shell What is it doing? Its like its executing itself again, but why? What the heck is: ${1+"$@"} ?? Wouldn't the eval never get done because of the if 0; ?? So why eval a piece of code that willnever be eval'ed ? Thanks! "chdir 't' if -d 't'" is evil?
Hi, I'm working on a release of PathTools, including File::Spec and Cwd. I've been told (though I never quite grokked it) to put the following code in the test scripts: BEGIN { chdir 't' if -d 't'; if ($ENV{PERL_CORE}) { @INC = '../lib'; } } use Cwd; However, I've just realized that this messes up @INC, because the Cwd.pm we need to test is in blib/lib/, which is added to the path by -Mblib, but it won't be found if we chdir('t'). I would really like to remove that whole block and make Tes...
