Dynamic 'Includes' (which themselves have 'Includes')
Dynamic Header/Footer 'Includes' Hi Everybody. I have an old generic email script written in ColdFusion that sites with many designs use for their formmail. There are hidden form variables that allow the designer (not me) to pass which files should be used as the header/footer wrapper for the "Thanks for Sending Email" results page. Cleverly, the designer also uses includes within the files that are included as the header/footer files. Because ColdFusion reads and executes the file 'top to bottom', he can do that. I'm now trying to convert the script to ASP.NET. I i...

Importing to 'New' from 'Old' Thunderbird files
Searching Thunderbird I found 'Importing' but it wont work for me. I have a Windows XP which failed, (viruses, etc.) and the hard disk Drive C has been installed on the new XP as Drive 'E' (backup). The teccihie installed Windows etc on the new Drive C and REMOVED Windows programs from Drive E. When I attempted to get into Thunderbird, I was initially taken back to Step 1 to setup my own e-mail and language NewsGroup. My dread is I have lost the old Thunderbird Messages and Address Book which theoretically should be on Dive E. Can I rescue them - what are the ...

Re: [perl #112916] please enhance 'use' and "use parent" to use 'base's modfind ability
Hello, as the author of parent.pm, I think that some historical context will be beneficial. Most of this can be found by using Google or another search engine with the appropriate search terms. Please read these links to familiarize yourself with the reasons why base.pm is as it is, and why parent.pm exists: http://www.nntp.perl.org/group/perl.perl5.porters/2007/07/msg127273.html Also, a short description of some situations where base.pm fails to load a file when you touch a namespace in the wrong place: http://perlmonks.org/?node_id=738152 I also gave a talk at the Ge...

Please rename 'but' to 'has'.
Larry, Please don't use 'but' to associate runtime properties to things. Please call it 'has'. First, but is just strange. I have a thing and I want to tell you it is red, so I say 'but'. Huh? Using 'has' makes a nice parallel with 'is' for compile time properties: What you are is determinted at compile time, what you have is determined at run time. Daniel I agree 'but' seems a tad odd, and I like the elegance of your suggestion at first sight. However... > First, but is just strange. I have a thing and I want to...

Using '[' and ']' characters...
Has anyone come across the following problem when using PD7.5 on SQL Server 2000? PD7.5 does not generate the '[' and ']' characters for stored procedures. Example: CREATE PROC P_Test AS SELECT A AS [Column A] FROM A_Table Generated script: CREATE PROC P_Test AS SELECT A AS Column A FROM A_Table Thanks in advance, Aiden That's interesting. In 7.5, if I put [[Column A]] in the procedure definition, I get [Column A]. In 8.0 it works correctly. -- Michael F. Nicewarner [TeamSybase] mailto:psyclo@datamodel.org http://www.datamode...

'use' and 'require'
------_=_NextPart_001_01C35AB9.4ADA5CA0 Content-Type: text/plain Hello all, Is there a way to 'variablize' the version for a 'use' statement. This way, if I wanted to change version I could only change it in one place with those changes cascading across all apps. Usage would look something like this: use $perl_version; Thanks in advance, Jason Allison Principal Engineer ARINC Incorporated Office: (410) 266-2006 FAX: (410) 573-3026 ------_=_NextPart_001_01C35AB9.4ADA5CA0-- Allison, Jason (JALLISON) wrote: > Hello all, > > Is there ...
