Prefer Firefox 2 to new "features" of Firefox 3

Summary: Prefer Firefox 2 to new "features" of Firefox 3

Comments:
I do NOT like the new "look and feel" of Firefox 3. I don't need/like
metallic. It is harder to read. I want the choice of being able to have
it look the same as Firefox 2 with white/readable tabs. I do not like
the "long" version of history. I am quite happy just seeing the http's.
The new version makes it harder to see/find the https. I do not like
having a "Most Visited" links suddenly pop into my toolbar. I do not
like you styling Firefox after Microsoft IE!!!!! If I wanted to use IE,
I would use IE.

New "features" in Firefox 3.0, not good features
Name: Stephanie Product: Firefox Summary: New "features" in Firefox 3.0, not good features Comments: While I applaud you for trying to add new innovations to the newest release, I really think you blew it with your "awesome bar". If anything it's awesomely bad. I don't enjoy having drop down boxes appearing when I type in an address. The fact that you have to edit this "feature" on the config page to get it to stop is maddening. It should be an option to click on in the options menu box. Please fix this in the next patch. Browser Det...

shifting "open in new tab" and "open in new window" in firefox 2
Name: Markus Grrmann Email: randale-mail_at_gmx.de Product: Firefox Summary: shifting "open in new tab" and "open in new window" in firefox 2 Comments: Heyho! In firefox 2, opening new pages in a new tab instead of a new window is the standard setting. But ifyou right-click on a random link to open it either in a new window or a new tab, the option on top of the right-click-menu is "open in new window" you have to scroll down to open the link in a new tab. To support tabbed browsing as well as possible, the option to open links in a new tab s...

Make "Restore previous Firefox session" a routine Firefox startup feature #2
Name: Rae Starr Email: rae_starrathotmaildotcom Product: Firefox Summary: Make "Restore previous Firefox session" a routine Firefox startup feature Comments: After a system crash or a Firefox crash, Firefox detects the previous session and reopens all tabs into the URLs that were active at the time of the crash. That feature is handy in normal use -- not just after a crash. I routinely open the same 5 windows. Logging in is a 4-minute ordeal. So I have been deliberately crashing Firefox in the Windows Task Manager, to take advantage of this feature during the ...

Firefox:mac 3.6.2 refuses to open, after invoking "Restart Firefox" command
Name: Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox:mac 3.6.2 refuses to open, after invoking "Restart Firefox" command Comments: I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I updated to 3.6.2 from the automated update, and after it installed and checked add-on compatibility, Firefox refused to open anymore, even after reinstalling. I tried uninstalling 3.6.2 including removing related files, and reinstalling but the same problem arose. Problem seems to be limited to 3.6.2, as after reinstalling a fresh copy of *3.6* from scratch there isn't any problem now. Seems like 3.6.2 can...

Firefox 3 Beta 2 menus inconsistently use "..." and "…"
Name: Patrick Bernier Email: patatTZoNEdotORG Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox 3 Beta 2 menus inconsistently use "..." and "…" Comments: I am running Firefox 3 Beta 2, English version, on a Japanese version of Windows XP. The "Help" menu looks like this: Report Broken web site… Report Web Forgery... Check for Updates… It looks very inconsistent and not very professional. IMHO all English menus should simply use three ASCII periods. Besides, the glyph for … tends to look very different depending on the font used (sometimes it's on the...

About the new "Recommended Add-ons" feature in Firefox 3
Hi, I was running some l10n Litmus tests when I had to test this new feature. This is a great feature, but I think it is very unfriendly for non-English speakers as the descriptions of the proposed add-ons come in English. If the purpose of this feature is to promote the customization of Firefox, imho, the target is missed. Someone who doesn't speak English will not install something that he doesn't understand the point, and I think he would be right to do not. There's a way to localize add-ons on AMO, but I didn't digg it up, as it is yet another tool, another ...

Firefox add-on "slogger" no longer supported with Firefox 3.x
Hello everyone, I did some research on my own to find a replacement or a way to make it work with Firefox 3.x since I found it so convenient. Since this was not really successful I turn to the group if anyone has advice :-) slogger is an add-on that (as I configured it) keeps a monthly log of URLs that I loaded (with timestamps) and a text-only-version of the pages (named with the timestamp) so that I can do full-text-search. Whenever I didn't remember where I had been seeing some information I searched through these logs and I did find what I was looking for quite ...

Firefox 3.1 Beta 2
Name: Luc Bollen Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 - Location of "New tab" icon Comments: The location of the "New tab" icon (a green '+' sign), at the far right side of the screen, is not optimal. When I need a new tab, I open it, then I type in an URL. So, a natural location for the "New tab" icon is just at the left of the URL field. With the current location, I first have to move the mouse pointer to the far right, click on the icon, then move the mouse pointer back to the left to enter the URL, which is a poor design,...
