Need update notification for Windows XP user account users

Summary: Need update notification for Windows XP user account users

Comments:
I use a Windows XP user account for all my day to day work and only log
on to an administrator account when I need to install some software.
This means that Firefox isn't automatically updated.

Could you please change Firefox (and Thunderbird) so that they notify
people using a user account when an update is available. Open Office
does this, so I'd hope that Firefox/Thunderbird could do it too.

Thanks

I would like to have update notification on "Standard User" account on Windows
Name: Robert S.E.B. Product: Firefox Summary: I would like to have update notification on "Standard User" account on Windows Comments: On my computers I never start a desktop environment with a user of the admin group, whether it be mac, windows or linux. As I (same as before a year) noted, Mozilla Firefox is the only Web browser, that I use (among Opera, Safari on Windows and Mac), that does not notificate me about an update nor install any update automatically, although the admin has configured Firefox to do so, when started with a Standard User on Windows. I also n...

Users Accounts VS Members User Accounts do i need 2 tables?
Hi, I've been thinking about this for a few days, and i would apreciate some opinions. So  im my data model i have the basic Users Users_Roles and Roles tables. the other table i have is a Members table. members are people who sing up who sing up for events and other things offered through the website and they also need a username and password to access the members area. The way i see it is there is a big difference here between the administration User Accounts and the Members User accounts. and i'm almost unsure if i should store the member username and password in the same ta...

I'm new to Windows XPHome but fairly familiar with Firefox. When installing Firefox on my XPHome system - is there an easy way of getting it set up in one account and then sharing that set up across all the other user accounts? At the moment I am having to set it up separately in each account installing extensions etc. Many thanks. -- Rev Robert M Jones, Wimborne Baptist Church, UK http://www.wimborne-baptist.org.uk Free trial of Mailwasher Pro - effective email spam filter - (commission goes to our partners in Bulgaria) http://fta.firetrust.com/index.cgi?id=420 Robert M J...

Roboform, Firefox, XP User Accounts
Before joining the RoboForums, figured to ask here: I use RoboForm (latest, free version) with Firefox 9.0.1 under XPsp3 and on the whole it works perfectly. However, there's an annoying quirk which I'm hoping has an somewhat obvious answer. I have two XP user accounts, Admin and Limited, and both Firefox and RoboForm's FF extension share profiles between them -- both sources are in custom locations -- so when logged in to either I have full access to both and changes are universal. But if I use FF as the Admin user, the next time I run it as the Limited user (I do...

Novell Client and Windows XP user accounts
I have a Windows XP machine in a central location running Client 4.83 with SP3 that is accessed by numerous users. Is there a way to login through the network client and not have the Windows Workstation login box prompt for a user name and password? I would like this to work similar to the way my WIN98 machines login and really don't want to set up a user account for every person that utilizes this machine. Is there any way to do this?
