Summary: Buggy firefox 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11
I don't know what changed since 18.104.22.168 but the new releases (22.214.171.124,
126.96.36.199) seem very buggy. Random crashes, slow responses and
additionally problems with administrator rights.
I had similar problems on 2 out of 2 systems. Best solution for me (and
probably a lot of other users) is to go back to 188.8.131.52 and disable

I have been a programmer for 30 years. I just upgraded to the versions
on Firefox and Thunderbird listed in the subject line. I think these
versions are very buggy. Firefox's password manager doesn't work and
even with the link "http://hendrix.mozilla.org" work around link to

I had a strange issue crop up the other day, shortly after (but not immediately
after) I had upgraded Firefox to v18.104.22.168.
Every time I launched a shortcut, or typed a URL from the "run..." line, I got
an error message:
:"Windows cannot find '[full url here]'. Make sure you typed the name correctly,
:and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then
:click Search." [Dialogue button: OK]
The site would launch normally, but the annoying dialogue would always pop up.
If the browser was open already, there was no error message.

I am currently using a version of Firefox with the version number of
220.127.116.11. This is the second time that I have been told that it has now
been updated to a newer version of Firefox with a version number of
18.104.22.168. I assume that 22.214.171.124 is newer (and better) than version
126.96.36.199. How can I stop this "update"?

I just upgraded both my desktop and my laptop to FF v126.96.36.199 a couple days
ago. Both began doing the same annoying thing. When I click a URL

This doesn't happen if FF is already running. If it's not running, it
happens every time.
I just downloaded 188.8.131.52. Same story.

Summary: Moving from v 22.214.171.124 to 126.96.36.199
I use an Intel iMac in OS X 10.4.8 & moved to Mozilla Firefox last year.
I now use Firefox 188.8.131.52. It works great —— best browser ever used! I
see no need to upgrade to 184.108.40.206. It will help to know what the
differences are & if they're significant. Please let me know by email.
Many thanks in advance for your help!

It isn't perhaps one of the most widely adopted of international
