Comments:
Why on earth would you make an update that got rid of all the useful and
convenient information a user has saved up? Firefox just asked me to
run an update and I stupidly allowed it, and now I have NONE of the
bookmarks that I had worked to create over a very long period of time.
I have been a Firefox user for years, could you please email me with a
remedy or a potential way of getting these settings back. I will
certainly not use Firefox anymore if this is the new "norm."

This is the reason why you should turn off automatic updates in
Firefox.
Make Firefox prompt you when an update is available and not download
and install it automatically.

See how you can disable automatic updates in Firefox:

Firefox updater updates firefox without and then tells you that your favourite plug-ins have now stopped working.
Name: User Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox updater updates firefox without and then tells you that your favourite plug-ins have now stopped working. Comments: Firefox updater updates firefox without and then tells you that your favourite plug-ins have now stopped working. I strongly suggest running the update compatibility check before install, inform the user about the plug-ins they currently have which will not work until the developers upgrade them, then ask if they still want to upgrade. I'm sure you don't want people to stop updating because of some plug-in ...

To release a new buggy version every two weeks is not very professional. Test your software before the release and let the user download a stable browser. this update-orgy since 2.0.0 used me to use Opera instead of FF. Name: pirhan Email: pirhan_chanathotmaildotcom Product: Firefox Summary: Updates, updates and more updates Comments: Hello, Normally I use Safari, but my iBook is out of commission for a while. So, I am forced to use a PC to which I would much rather use Firefox than Internet Exploder. However, as much I enjoy not using a Microsoft product, and use a product that works decently, I am severely annoyed about the constant updates I am put through. In the last two days, I had to wait for Firefox to install updates before I could browse and now, I'm alerted that there'...

Updates Updates Updates
I was a big fan of Firefox.. Now, I don't even like to use it. Seems like every time I start it up I have to update some addin OR the browser itself. And unfortunately the update nag messages are always presented when I start a browsing session. I find this annoying because, typically, when I open a web browser all I want to do is go to a web page. Not update the browser. I can agree that staying current with the latest version could give the best, fastest, safest web experience. But that point becomes mute when I start off every other browsing session with a new update. And mos...

Update to Beta 5: Firefox lost saved passwords
Just a quick heads up, even if it may be a personal gremlin here on my box: I updated Beta 4 to Beta 5 through Yast, and after a reboot, Firefox lost all saved passwords. I think they are still there (at least the signons3.txt looks like it) but Firefox leaves all authentication fields empty, and the password exporter plugin writes an empty file. Uwe I can confirm this, although I'm not sure if it was due to a Mozilla Firefox SVN update to 3.0.4 or my own stupidity somehow - luckily I had a backup of my password on another computer -- Laptop: Dell Inspiron 6400, Ati Radeon...

Updating Firefox, etc.
I want to install the latest version of -Firefox-. I've downloaded it, but -- being a Linux beginner -- I don't know what to do with it. It's a *.tar.bz2* file. What next? I also have an *.iso* file for -ooReXX-, and a *.zip* file for -THE-, but I don't know what to do with those either. A few tips, or a pointer to the relevant SUSE docs would be enough. Thank you. I'm a quick learner. -- Weyland-Yutani ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open YaST and search for Firefox there. It's the easiest way to ins...

This is the case with the Firefox browser, which we find to be far superior to Microsoft Internet.Keep up the goodwork and you will have our support. ...

Firefox update feedback.
Name: Erin Kerr Product: Firefox Summary: Firefox update feedback. Comments: Firefox decided to update itself while I was in the middle of using it for a school assignment. I go to college online and I was posting writing an assignment in an online forum when I got kicked off so that it could update. I understand that using the internet can be unpredictable, but when a program purposely kicks a user off to do unrequested updates, it is very annoying. I will have to do my assignment over again. I guess I should go back to internet explorer. Browser Details: Mozilla/5.0 (W...
